Entirely my POV: I feel like someone cashing thousands of dollars should get a better rate than someone who cashes out 100 dollars.
i agree that they are making money hand over fist right now. Should be nowhere close to running in the red. If they went bankrupt it wouldn't be due to lack of business or revenue stream - it would have to be due to some very bad overhead and / or investment decisions.

What incentive would they have to lower cash-out fees for higher cash-outs? The cash-out fee is built in to their revenue and they would have no way of calculating what their revenue would be if it was on a sliding scale based on the amount of the cash-out.

I could see maybe a reduced instant transaction fee for higher dollar single sales (like 4% transaction fee for items over $500, 3% for over $1,000 etc). But, don't think they would ever reduce the final cash-out fee.

This is a good idea

@Dragonman Fair points. I cashed out some store credit in march and the thought of the 10% fee was worse than it actually was. I also got a blowout gift card and haven't used it because boxes are so dang expensive. So even saving 3.5% on a blowout gift card to me may not have been worth it. (That is probably where I got the somewhat unrealistic idea that cashouts fee % should match blowout giftcards.)

@Budler: I get what you are saying and it makes sense. But the cheapest blowout redemption is $55 @ 9.1%. Small sellers could easily get that.

Overall I find it interesting that there is constant bickering in this thread about all the fees. (Cashouts, 5% Transaction, storage, promotion listing, promotions sale fee, elite upgrades...don't think I missed any) But the consensus is people are fine with a 10% cash out fee.

Just thinking out loud really and trying to improve COMC for all sellers

Everyone is fine with it because not long ago it was 20%. Or was it?

Yes, it was 20%, plus a small fee for cash outs less than $250.

But they didn't charge the 5% transaction fee so saying it they reduced the fee 10% is inaccurate. They also raised a bunch of other fees at the same time.

Correct, they changed the fee structure so they could get a piece of all the flips. They probably looked at the sales history of some cards that were sold multiple times and never left the site.

I was always very curious to know the top 10 cards that had been flipped the most, but I don't think they ever shared that data.

If I had to guess, 1993 Topps Jeter, 1989 UD Griffey, and other mass produced Hall of Fame rookies.

I surpassed $70,000 in sales on COMC today. I'd be curious to know where that puts me in terms of top sellers. Top 1,000? No idea. I know there are many sellers who would dwarf that number.

Anyhow, I am fine with the fees and the time frames given. Even the crazy new time frames they've given since Covid seem reasonable to me, all things considered.

The only thing that really bothers me is that they don't stick to their word. It's really not useful to give "estimated" dates that change every day. And since Covid, they stated that they'll focus on getting 1-week guaranteed submissions uploaded on time. I'm extremely frustrated that they uploaded the majority of my submissions due 5/1 on time, but for some reason plucked out the 23 highest value cards from each submission (worth something like $7,000 total) and left them in limbo.

Maybe it's because I had half of a package that I sent to COMC mysteriously go missing last year. Maybe it's because I had a card that I don't believe was mine uploaded to my account this year, and I've heard of the same thing happening to others. And maybe it's because I really can't think of any good, logical reason for them to save the highest value cards for last (especially because some are the same type of cards as the ones they've uploaded, they're just more valuable players). But it makes me really anxious. I just want to know my cards are there and undamaged.

Simple solution: Do not send them any cards that you do not care gets lost or damaged....I do not care much if they would lose, put in the wrong port or destroy a $100 card but i would rather not that happen to a 1k card so $100 is my limit i send in......accept this or sell elsewhere... i have a couple Brady autos I am gonna get rid of but it will not be thru COMC...Many other avenues

Because the sales are 24 hour periods, and they start within an hour of whatever time someone submitted it.

What does it mean when COMC marks my card pending sale? Guessing someone bought it from eBay but hasn't paid yet? Would think they'd have immediate payment checked off.

Did they actually mail it on the 24th or did you put the request in on that day? The only check I've gotten from them was at the end of 2018 and it took about 2 weeks to get to my house. I'd suspect with current restrictions that the checks might be delayed a week or so.

I'm 99% sure they do. Was it a recently listed card or something that had been on the site for a while?

From my experience, Pending sale usually means a card was purchased on eBay and then almost immediately purchased on the website.

Possibly an ebay sale paid by e-check through paypal. Takes a few days until it clears.

Read back a few pages , I asked same question about a card stuck in pending sale for months. Emailed comc and still haven’t heard anything.

I don’t deal in a lot of high end, but I understand your concerns. We send thousands of dollars of cards to them with absolutely no recourse if something “goes missing”. Our word vs theirs. Their cameras be damned.

Thanks. The last time it happened I was able to recoup some of the cost, because I had insured the package. It's the only time I've ever had to file an insurance claim, so I have no idea if they make it more difficult to recover thousands as opposed to hundreds.

Anyway, I did talk with someone who has dealt with a similar issue (expensive cards being uploaded last), and learned that there might be a reasonable explanation after all. This did help with my concerns. With that said, my estimated date was pushed back again today, this time to 5/12, which I'm bummed about.

They sent me a message last September with a list of some cards they had put in the wrong port and had become unretrievable and wanted to know how much compensation I wanted. I responded with a number. Never heard anything else about it.

Can you elaborate by what you mean by "unretrievable"? Were they sold? If not I can't see why COMC couldn't recover. It is upsetting to hear that this has not been resolved.

Looks like COMC is wayyyyyy behind in processing...

I was hoping to have 4 batches of about 5000 cards processed by this week.

Update: the final 23 cards from my two batches were uploaded today. I can rest easy. Hallelujah!

My current-year 3-week batch still has an estimated date of 5/12, too, which I think is nearer to the current date than it has been. So that's promising.
