November was a strong month!
Between eBay and etsy, my wife did nearly 100 orders in the 1400 range!

December is off to a super slow start!

I'd love to see pics too!

We are in the process of turning the majority of our basement into our inventory room! Hoping my wife can start selling full time sometime in the new year!

As soon as I get everything sorted, Ill get some pictures. I've had to do some repairs to the area that houses the washer and dryer, so right now everything is piled in while I work on that. I plan on building shelving to hold all my bins, and then have devoted spaces for photos and shipping, along with my clothing racks I use for a local show I do. Hopefully I can get everything done by early January.

My wife sells full time now. Luckily it is considered extra money and not a needed income. Sales on eBay are down 30% this year from last year. Good luck.

Getting back into selling online. Had been mostly selling on Facebook locally because I had been so busy at the gym. Only using mercari because my ex screwed me on eBay and Amazon, but it's working out well, other than having to wait patiently for ratings and money transfers.

Is it hard to sell men clothes from expensive brands like Gucci? I'm cleaning out my closet and I have clothes from Gucci, Louis Vuitton, Prada, loro piana, and purple label Polo but most of it go for under 75 on eBay. Is it because there's too many fakes? I have all of the boxes and receipts.

I don't know what this is but I barcode scanned it and they are expensive. Cost me 30 cents in a goodwill outlet bin.

Picked this up today at Goodwill for $2. Fantastic condition for being white. Figure I will just let it ride in an auction.

Boxes and receipts will help, but yes I'd say that the majority of the higher end clothing on ebay is fake.

The fakes drive it down and the market as well.

Walk into Saks, Neiman Marcus, or Barneys yes that shirt will cost you $250-300, but unless it is that season eBay buyers will set the value at less. You are selling it on there, so buyers want to get a deal and others have same thing and will sell for $50-80 and take what they can get.

Does not help that TJ Maxx has a designer subset of stores that get in the high end brands and you can get a Purple Label Suit for $100 on Sale or a Gucci Shirt for $25 and then flip on eBay.

That is not to say there will not be exceptions and times where you get close to retail.

It's a tool that professional photographers use to make sure that they are getting accurate color in their pictures. Basically they take a picture with this thing in the frame and use it to check the color of whatever they are shooting against the calibration colors.

Default ebay unhappy buyer question

got a message today from one of my buyers who is unhappy. I sold an older MAC PC game, SSG Total War Collection, new and unopened. Got an email from the buyer today saying he is unhappy because it wont run on his MAC as it requires "Classic Environment" OS9 or less, and my description didn't mention that restriction. Thoughts? I'm sure now the product is open and its resale value is shot if I refunded him and had him return it.

If you listed item as new, ask him did he open the box to try and install it.

If he says yes and opens a return call eBay as it is now not new

Thanks! I'm wondering whether its best to give him a partial refund and not waste time having him reship it back to me, etc, especially if its been opened. Is it my responsibility to post the operating requirements, thus making this my fault?

Speaking of returns. Just an FYI to everyone. You may already know this but this was new to me.

I sold a stereo receiver overseas. I tested it before shipping, worked perfectly. It arrives damaged. They let him keep my item and give him a refund and give me nothing.

Turns out the Global Shipping Program only covers VISIBLE damage. Since the receiver was damaged on the inside, but the outside was in good condition, I didn't receive a refund as I could have sold as "broken".

This was $319. It took 4 calls before I received an American customer service rep, the first 3 overseas reps all told me to kick rocks. The American rep refunded me my money but let me know this was a one time thing.

Be careful on what you ship overseas.

Sold a $50 hockey decanter on eBay...payment through PayPal...showed up to buyer broken despite bubble wrap & packing peanuts.

She is pushing me for a refund (rightfully so), I told her it has to go through eBay resolution to get the insurance coverage from PayPal shipping.

Is this correct course of action for her and me?

I had a damaged shipment in the past and refunded buyer outright & never got my $ through seller protection...it's just $50, but still

You gotta weigh the cost to ship back to you and the resale value vs just eating $50. If she opens a case eBay will make you pay for return shipping and once you get it back you'll then have to refund. If you can still resell it and recoup some money then get it back, if it's trashed then really no sense in losing more money on top of the $50. You'll lose shipping there, the $50 and shipping back.

What is the point of PayPal offering $50 insurance with PayPal shipping then? Shouldn't that cover damage?
