Anyone having a problem selecting eBay standard trading card envelope as a shipping option this morning? It seems to have disappeared as an option...

Are you sure the item was in a supported category?

Yes, it won't show up for me either. I had to cancel and relist an item that had a mistake in the title and it wouldn't show up as an option.

Yes- it’s in the Baseball trading Cards category, under $20 & within the envelope limited sizes

These were $1.69 for 100. Pretty soon I'll be vaccinated and can go to the dollar store where they are 80 for $1;

Standard envelope shipping this last month has surpassed 60% of my monthly sales of my April total of $5600 . So far this program has been very successful IMO with only 2 issues. One back in Feb that was not scanned or loaded by ebay and another returned for bad address given by buyer.

I have all the sudden this past week had two envelopes make it all the way to buyers post office, then get held for additional postage and have had two returned for additional postage. I was putting the cards in toploader and sandwiched between two pieces of cardboard. I'm wondering if sometimes the cardboard is breaking the 1/4 thick rule. Are you guys just putting them in just a toploader and shipping like that, no cardboard?

The cardboard is making them too rigid. I just use a half sheet of paper wrapped around toploaders. Never an issue with arriving due or anything.

If too rigid the 3/4 rule does not apply per the usps

Yes....just top loader or semi rigid.....the cardboard can make it too thick and/or too rigid. You might get away with the cardboard addition 90% of the time, but that 10% when you don't will hurt. Never had a problem with just a semi-rigid for regular cards, top loader for anything thick.

Question for you or anybody - You said you use a toploader for anything thick, so for a regular jersey card in a toploader / team bag - any returns? It's not too thick? I was hoping to use this method to ship thick cards as well.

It’s just personal preference, but I wouldn’t ship a jersey card PWE. They go through the machines whether you put a butterfly stamp / write non-machinable on it or not, and it’ll crease a jersey card.
Got one that way a few years ago and it had creased the window where the jersey piece is.

Oh ok, what's the reason this machine wouldn't crease a normal card in a toploader? Just not thick enough?

At what point do you file the non payment claim? This is my first time experiencing this but have 2 cards at 3 days (accepted offers) and 1 card at 2days. I've sent a payment reminder each day. I'm sure that is annoying but want to get paid.

Also if you have immediate payment checked and an offer is accepted why don't they make em pay right away? That seems silly to me.

Had a weird one today. I had one of these returned to me unopened, with a yellow usps sticker that reads "return to sender. no such number. unable to forward". However, my tracking number shows delivered in Ebay. Sounds like the system still has some bugs to work out.

I just use a toploader.

I think you have to wait 5 days now then you can cancel it stating no payment received. This was part of the spring update. Sending a daily update just increases the chances the buyer never pays or if they do pay they cause you other headaches. Ebay sends out daily reminders as it is.

The reason they cannot is Ebay does not hold your payment info you have to approve every payment made. If an offer is accepted the buyer still has to authorize the payment.

The tracking is being marked delivered at the last processing center before delivery that is why many are taking a day or 2. Your item got returned because once it went to next step the address was wrong.

Ahh ok, that makes sense. Thanks for the explanation. If I was the buyer I would be unhappy that it showed delivered, but actually wasn't.

A regular card in a semi-rigid is flexible enough to go thru the sorting machines without damage.....I guess the same with a top loader, but I don't know for sure because I don't use top loaders for regular cards, only the thick ones.

No returns, but have had 4 damaged out of maybe 2000 thicker cards sent this way over the years. You can put the extra postage on an envelope to make it non-machineable, but I would guess that 95% all go thru the machines anyway.

If tracking on these is working then they are going through the machines
