I agree with what you said and have been an Epack user since 2016. The big issue with Epack is the amount of cards that come damaged when they are supposed to be "pack fresh." I am curious how much care is taken with the product once it has been ripped, scanned and stored.

I've sent hundreds of cards home from epack

The condition of the cards is no different than when you open product yourself. Any "damage" is the same QC issues as physical pack opening.

The reality of trading cards is there is going to be difficulties with QC (as there has always been with printing on card stock).

probstein123 is selling an open case of 12 sealed boxes of X-Men Metal on eBay.

It's only at $515 with 44 bids and five days to go.

Why is the case open? I guess it could've been opened to make sure there were 12 sealed boxes inside. It sort of raises a red flag for me, though.

Could be just random boxes thrown in an empty case to add 'legitimacy'. Did Metal have true case hits? I've seen people open hockey until the case hit is, err, hit and sell off the remaining boxes. I doubt hockey is unique.

Optimistically speaking, everybody is hyper-aware of the recent case frauds, so when buying a sealed case, opening it is the only way to protect against substitution fraud.

As for whether or not Probstein received a sealed case and opened it, or if the case was already opened, only Probstein can answer that. I've been collecting enough to know that opening until you get "the good box" and selling the rest does actually happen. Is this Probstein case one of those? None of us knows.

Asked them a few weeks ago and completely forgot to post

They said the case has been opened by customs.

Finally shipped some blue parallels home. Love these two, the characters really pop against the background:

The Blue looks arguably better than the Black. I was able to build/ship a set for my GF and I was pretty underwhelmed. I actually like the Grandiose parallel more.

I just got a package from COMC with over 300 grandiose. I’m listing them .99 7 day auctions. If the first round sell poorly I’ll hold off on selling the rest.

Good luck. The new wave of collectors are more interested in serial numbered cards.

But why not just auction them through COMC's eBay feature? Let them deal with the headache.

Too small of profit margins.

Went to list this on ebay and noticed that it's hilariously miscut.

As a longtime seller, this is one selling tactic, that’s origins are in sport card side, I always thought to be idiotic (along with the $0.01 opening bid).

I’ve learned that if you don’t value your stuff, nobody else will. While you may get one or two “bidding wars” from folks trying to complete the set, chances are much higher that you end up with a bunch of $0.99 (or just slightly higher) winning bids. Starting the auctions at a minimum of $5.99, you are likely to sell just as many but at higher margins. Just food for thought.

I generally agree, especially if you are running lots of lower or medium cards. I sometimes start my bigger cards at .99 if I think they'll get up there anyways.

I do feel that when I ordered delivery it was long enough ago that that market was stronger for these.

Yep not wasting my time making blacks, the blues are good enough for me.

Wow. That's really bad. I noticed some of the PUPs I had looked a little slanted but I thought that might be on purpose. But this proves they screwed up.

Out of 45 different grandiose I had listed not one sold.

I have found that shipping on low value cards on ebay is the killer. People dont want to pay $5 delivered for 1 card that they can buy on comc for $2 or $3 everyday even if it costs them money someday to ship home. I usually lot up low value cards and have better luck because I dont like the cheap shipping option on ebay because I had several lost or damaged.

This is probably a big factor, I'm sure, but (at least for me) the market has been ice cold for the past month or so.

Pretty much anything readily available on COMC because of the relationship with ePack is, in general, a poor sell on eBay.
