And this is what I don't get when he has a bad game. These guys play 82 games a season...I doubt they have 82 flawless games. I didn't watch the game, but from what I read on here, Westbrook was awful, 0 assists, 6 turnovers, throw out etc. Sounds like his worst game of the season by far, but are we going to act like 0 assists is the norm for him? If it becomes a trend ok then, but seems like an off game against a very good defensive team

I agree with this and I'm a Westbrook fan! Those TO's and terrible shooting are YOUR fault Russ, not the ref's.

I neglected to mention this in my previous post, but he leads the league in technical fouls with 10. That's called a trend, not being singled out. On the other side, I could see him getting more calls due to his physicality. He takes a lot of contact but you have to know that calls aren't always going to go your way.

It seemed like it was a technique that baseball managers use - get ejected so that 1) you don't have to be part of the disaster show anymore or 2) try to fire up your teammates to get them going. It could easily have been just frustration boiling over, but it seemed like a dumb way to get ejected.

Again, I am a Westbrook fan and have the cards to show it. I'll accept this one bad night for ALL of the other GREAT nights!

GO RUSS AND OKC!!!

That's his style and the best way he knows how to help his team win. More often then not, it's been working. When things go right, he looks spectacular; when they go wrong they can go very wrong.

The team doesn't have the luxury of passing the ball around between the lineup of death or letting Kyrie take over the game; it's Westbrook or bust. There's been a number of games where they've looked like garbage for a have then RWB takes over and leads them to a win.

He just needs to try not to get kicked out.

Here's his quote from last night's post-game press:

"Especially for me, because I feel like I don't get the benefit of the doubt most of the time, especially throughout the game with refs. I get so many techs just for talking. I can't even say nothing when I'm getting hammered every time I go to the damn basket throughout the games and previous games. Not tonight, but every night. I just don't get ref'd the same way as other people, and I don't appreciate it."

This is all well and good, except for the fact that he leads the league in free throw attempts per game (by 21 attempts). Now, he may drive to the basket more than anyone, thus creating more foul attempts, but him saying he doesn't get ref'd the same is contrary to the data.

All that said, he should not have gotten tossed last night. It's not like he erupted at the ref.

Wish I would've seen the game last night but wasn't able to catch it. If the Grizz had a top-12 offense, this would be one of the best teams in the league. They're exceptional at defense but the offense has always been meh. When Mike was out, Marc was really aggressive but since Mike came back, he hasn't been nearly as aggressive. If he can revert back to that, the Grizz will be a lot better off.

Also, I couldn't believe Westbrook's ejection, especially ending the game with 0 assists (just the third time in his career). Guess the Grizz were giving him all types of fits last night.

He had someone on his team who was a former MVP...

Russ has also had abysmal games. It's him or nothing, I agree, but allowing others to make plays will benifit the team long term. Russ doesn't allow it. It's him or nothing, the stats show it with his points and assists.
If he gave the ball to a big man and let him operate or dipo, they'd average more pts/assists...

They would also lose a lot of games if Russ played passive and let others try to do more. Without him they could be the worst team in the league.

Yesterday was clearly a one off from Russ.

The 6 TOs came in the first qtr. He adjusted, and then was playing well. He obviously said something that crossed the line after already being warned.

He won't be the only stud to leave Memphis with his tail between his legs, that team is legit, winning with no Conley.

Also, OKC will win or lose on Westbrook, that's his responsibility, and so it should be. I don't believe he has "nobody else", but just like Ewing with the Knicks, Reggie with Indy, T Mac at Orlando, Kobe without Shaq, he's the guy that needs to bring it every night. And I really like that about him.

Gonna be tough up 27. Clippers need to make a comeback to keep him in the game

What Russ and Harden are doing at the moment is ridiculous.

Just read this stat line... just incredible...

ESPN Stats and Information
Russell Westbrook has nine triple-doubles in fewer than 30 minutes played (including Saturday night). That's six more than any other player (minutes were first tracked in 1951-52). Source: Elias Sports Bureau.

You're just kinda being annoying now... I don't think any "haters" that you keep talking to are actually reading this thread, so you're not adding anything here.

Respect to the Big O. But honestly, I am more impressed with a guy doing this night in and night out that didn't have to look down at the ball when he dribbled.

He should be suspended for 1 game for intentionally throwing the ball at the ref and hitting him in the head. He must think EVERYONE who is watching is dumb because he said "I thought the ref was looking at me". The ref clearly was not.

I highly doubt he did that on purpose.

As for this game, OKC is struggling right now. Back to back losses against 2 weaker east teams. Get a fresh Rockets team tomorrow...

Should be a fun battle with Russ and Harden.

He purposely threw the ball at the ref, Did he mean to hit him in the head? Probably not, You can clearly see ref never even looked at him though, He knew what he was doing.

Poor performance by Westbrook tonight. Stat line looks good, but his shot was off in the first half. Should have made more opportunities for his teammates and easily could have established a lead at half time.

Hard to call Milwaukee and Charlotte 'weaker' teams. Currently the 4th and 6th seeds.

But yea, shooting's been off, and unfortunately, there's nobody else on the team that can go off and score 30.
