True, I didn't want to overestimate the value though. Heck, the base Ohtani and Bichette RC could get that too. No telling with Judge with heavy Yankees collectors either.

Definitely a possibility. The Trout non-auto super went for $9k as I recall. The set was incredibly hot when it sold and while areas of the market may have cooled, I think there would be lots of interest making it a five-figure card.

I could be persuaded to part with the 2021 Trout non-auto Super for $9K.

Austin Meadows 2020 Superfractor showed up on the PSA pop report and is currently on eBay. 111/199 base supers tracked thus far for the 2020 set. See Page 300 for list.

This is for sale if anyone is interested. I’ll give someone on this forum a great deal on it.

Well, looks like I’m keeping the Trout for the foreseeable future. Apparently what certain people think is a “Great Deal” is supposed to involve literally giving the card away for next to nothing.

I'm blocking you then, his 2020 Topps Red Auto/5 only went for $999. I thought $1010 was a fair offer cause you save fees and taxes. Gotta go by comps.

There is nothing special about 2020 Finest Flashbacks. You will sell the Red for three fiddy.

1K for that is a solid deal.

It's not a super or RC, I have bought 20/21 autos for similar prices. The market is also winding down, so you're not going to get 2/3/4K like a year ago.

I believe it’s valued higher but that regular Finest red AU/5 does screw the value up. I would think 2.5-3k would be fair but I don’t collect the Autos. The set overall has been on a downward trajectory for sure. However, the Autos sell very well

I see that Trout being $1.25k+ had the auto been more bold. I'm not a fan of slabs in general, but the 9 doesn't help even when you look at buying the card vs the grade.

Yeah I'm pretty well versed on comps for the trout autos from FF and I think 2.5-3k is a pretty good estimate. PSA 10's of the base /20 sold for just over 2k and 1750 in the last few months, so it wouldn't be shocking to see a 9.5 red push through 3k. You can't use comps from Topps Chrome or regular Finest as a reference because those sets aren't in the same ballpark as FF, especially the 2020 set.

FF has 2 major factors that work in it's favor: Nostalgia and a limited PR in comparison with other modern sets. Some people might say "a red is a red" no matter what set, but realize that in 2020, there are only a total of 136 parallels per player and 166 in 2021. That drives the entry price for golds/refractors up, and those premiums generally roll up through the shorter parallels.

$1k is absolutely not in the ballpark for what the red Trout is worth. I've always thought the FF autos were overpriced, but all that matters is what the people paying premiums for them think. And the premiums are very real and very high.

When you really look at the autos, there are only 51 out there, of all colors. The highest number out there is the refractor /20. If you're a PC player, that's one of the 2020 cards you want now, not later.

With boxes at $450 and steady, the legacy factor as well, I understand the premium they are getting.

I'm in it for the long haul, personally. If I do more boxes and up up hitting a Trout, I might go for the set but right now still working on the refractor set.

For you, I can come down to tree fiddy on it! He asked me how much it was, I told him tree fiddy! Haha

I also have the Trout Flashbacks Green Refractor Auto, which is the only one ever graded with a 10 Auto. I love this design! The Red and Green Autos together are so purtyyyy!

Its like Christmas with those colors.

Your card, your price Trendy. Don't let someone bully you into selling at a price you are not okay with

I don't think there is anything wrong with a 4 figure offer. As stated, the only comp was $999. But with it being the first retro complete set, legacy brand and the overall print production numbers along with factors others mentioned, it is on the very low end but then again, no price was mentioned. Can't blame someone for shooting their shot. .

People…if you’re gonna spend 4K on a finest trout auto, BUY THE 2011! It’s his only on card rookie auto.

No way the 2020 red should be anywhere close in price. The PSA 10 base auto /20 is way, way…way more desirable than a red, min gem with a 9 auto. The base is actually the ideal refractor as it color matches the original set.

Totally understand but tell that to a PSA registry owner or Master Set collector. Then you got the new theme “color match”

Either way fellas, there’s no way this card is getting sold for under $4K. Have zero issues whatsoever keeping the card forever as the 1993 Finest Design is timeless and Trout’s pretty much a guaranteed HOF’er.

Next topic on the Finest Flashbacks front!
