I'm super psyched to see that they are going with the false flag conspiracy angle this mini season.

I'm even more psyched to find out that C.G.B. Spender (the smoking man) will be part of the series. He's always been one of my favorite characters on the show.

Although I was hoping the girl from The Americans survived longer than one episode ("if" she is really dead).

To me the show reminded me of this show that was on the air about 10 years ago. Something Files or something. I think the main characters were even named Mulder and Scully or something like that. Probably a tribute.

What made X-Files so compelling when it originally aired was the was the context and reflection of the times that the stories represented.

It appears to be following that theme in a post 9/11 world we live in with a touch of canon with the previous movies since the last season aired.

solid episode.

i loved Mulder's "Edward Snowden" reference haha. Also, Scully mentioned Google in a throwaway line of dialog and it got me thinking- why in the hell would they bring that up but still have her using that "off-brand" search browser in the first episode?

The William dream sequences were very well done, overall a really good episode. I'm excited for next week's monster!

Because, IMO, if she'd have used the name of the off-brand search engine, the swipe at the sheer incompetence of many would have been lost. Had to make it mainstream. The fans would have appreciated the other, though, lol!

The X-Files is my second favorite show of all time next to The OC (yeah yeah, I know), so I was super psyched for this mini series. The first episode was ok to me, but I wasn't blown away. The alien storyline has always been my least favorite part of the show though, so I'm not that surprised. I'm looking forward to the monster storylines .

As for The Lone Gunmen, I'd love to see them back, but not sure if they'd do that. Having to explain what happened to them might keep them from bringing them back, but who knows.

Was great to have Mulder's sarcasm back, and the usual arguing with Skinner. Hard for me to get over how different Skully looks now though. I actually need to rewatch the first episode because I drifted off towards the end after a long day of drinking and watching football...

Haha yeah, I remember watching the first episode because I was bored on a Friday night. I expected it to be dumb, but I was instantly hooked. I identified so much with Seth and my age at the time of airing was about the same as his.

One of my friends borrowed my DVD set to watch it recently, and now the girl I'm dating is going through it too. In turn I'm finally reading the Harry Potter books so I can watch the movies...

I never watched the originals because I was too young, but I'm really enjoying X-Files.

That was a really fun episode. I laughed out loud a few times. I'm impressed by this updated X-Files.

I loved the cemetery scene with Mulder and the Kim Manners/Jack Hardy headstones (former X Files employees who have died). I also laughed pretty hard when the lizard man was describing his job selling phones and just making up random words

Another good one tonight.

Guy Mann, the monster, was played by Rhys Darby, probably best known as manager Murray on "Flight of the Conchords". It was another classic guest performance the X-Files is so well know for.

(He also recently played a Werewolf in the mockumentary "The Things We Do In The Shadows". "Remember, we're werewolves, not swerewolves!")

so i'm just now getting caught up after seeing the first two episodes live. this third episode is hilarious. and holy #@#@#@#@, Gillian Anderson's got some cleavage.

i guess my main grudge is that after they caught the killer this time, Mulder didn't bring Scully along to catch Guy to show her he was real. and i'm bummed that Tyler Labine didn't have a larger role. underrated actor.

so I'm pushing my luck and watching episode 4 until the baby wakes up from her nap.

i am confused. the garbage guy kills people that screw with the homeless (as far as we've been told so far). Why did he come kill the lady that was trying to stop the mistreatment of the homeless? Was there a line of dialogue or a picture i missed that explained it?
