Not sure if I can take another full series but I think it's going 7. Great pitching/hitting match ups and I thought this would be the series in '16. A year early but amazing. Only playoff game I'll miss is NLCS game 1 but back in action for game 2 and beyond.

Picking Cubs in 7, rooting Mets in 4. Go Mets! Feels like a team of destiny.

GO METS!!!

Of course I'm rooting for them since I want the Cubs to lose, but the Mets are also my dad's favorite team. I'd love to see them in the World Series for him. He's suffered with crap teams for a long time, so I'm hoping that they go all the way this year.

Who starts game one for them? Harvey I'm assuming? Then it'd likely be Syndergaard, deGrom, and Matz in that order after that.

I'm going with the Mets (BIG shocker, I know) in 6 very hard fought games. The Cubs lineup is scary but I think our rotation is scarier. Let's Go Mets!!

Man, everyone the Cubs. Lester favored on the road against Harvey game one; as a whole, Cubs -160 to win the series.

28 isn't "a couple"

The Mets are a new ball club after a buying a few players, they made change almost overnight, you're telling me a team can improve fast but a player can't?

Javy didn't just improve overnight anyways, it's been a process, you just haven't seen it yet because you obviously do not watch Cubs games, and are too busy checking stats from the 2014 season. Maybe I should check Mets 2014 stats and use that as reason they will not beat the Cubs.

Javy came in the NLDS and instantly made an impact, without his huge 3 run HR against Lackey would the Cubs have won that game? Who knows? But he did and we are here and that's all that matters right now.

His 2014 stats are history, they mean nothing.

Here are his 2015 playoff stats, this is what matters.

BA .800
OBP .800
SLG 1.400
STRIKE OUTS ZERO
4 hits, 1 hr, 3 RBI, 1SB

I hope both LCS go 6 games. No fun when a team sweeps a LCS then sits around almost a week and disintegrates in the WS.

Mets, Royals

It should be great baseball either way. The Cubs young hitters against those Mets young pitchers. Strength vs. strength. If the Cubs take one of the first 2 games, I think they win it in 6. There's something about this Cubs team that defies logic.

Who said baseball, especially in October, was a game of logic?

Cubs can do this.

Remember this from earlier in the season, Cub fans? This was from when they swept the Mets at Citi Field:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mDYNuD4CwlI

Ohh that's right. I remember the games the Cubs played against the Mets this season, just brutal.

Hopefully Cesepdes has a much better series this time around because he; ohh wait.
Well, at least David Wright needs to perform better because against the Cubs this year; ohh wait.
If nothing else, d'Arnaud was just awful, had a total of 0 hits in the seven games; ohh wait.
Michael Conforto misplayed that ball in left field in game number; ohh wait.
This time, if Harvey goes 7 shutout innings we can't have Tyler Clippard blowing the game for the; ohh wait.

Cubs may have well plays the Port St Lucie Mets earlier this season; those games were against a terrible, terribly different team.

I think the Mets starting pitching has much more depth but I feel the Cubs lineup is more potent. Should be a great series.

Haha yeah the NLCS Mets are just a tad more dangerous. Season stats are out the window at this point, I don't care who we played in the regular season or how well we played them, that's now history. It's a whole different game at this point.

I'm well aware these aren't the same Mets the Cubs saw in the regular season, but the Cubs have grown, too. Need I remind you the Cubs lost Game 1 of the NLDS with Jon Lester as the losing pitcher and that Arrieta wasn't his best in Game 3, yet they won that game?

The Cubs are in the NLCS even without their best pitchers giving dominant performances against St. Louis. If Lester can pitch how he has in the playoffs, as well as Arrieta putting that last start behind him, can you imagine?

Mets have a deeper staff, I get it. The Cubs are nothing to sneeze at either.

It is, and the pitching match-ups should be pretty even throughout the series. Arrieta will be favored in games 2/5, DeGrom in games 3/7 and the other three games are just about toss-ups even though the Mets will have stronger arms on the mound.

I think the Mets gets runs this series; they're coming off of four games against Kershaw, Greinke, Hatcher, Jansen, so it's a step down in class in terms of heat, and stuff. That being said, there's no doubt the Cubs have a better line-up than LAD, so it's a matter of keeping the HR's off the board. Dodgers only homered in 1 game, you're probably not gonna be able to do that against the Cubbies.

I don't see either team running away with it, pretty sure this is gonna be a 2-2 series no matter what coming down the stretch. I'd peg the Mets with the odd games, the Cubs w/ the even ones, and then from there it's total guesswork. In that scenario, I think the Mets would have the edge because they could close the series w/ Harvey, Syndegaard, DeGrom.

Mets in 7 (Failing to clinch in game 6)

Also, the point wasn't to bring up the Cubs swept the Mets in the regular season, rather to bring back a memory of the song and it was played on the Cubs fees because Maddon hired a magician to help loosen up the team during its struggles.

I will agree with one thing stated in this thread. The Cubs and Mets are both vastly improved from the last time they played in July. The cubs were hovering around five hundred until the run after the all-star break, same with Mets. Cubs have added schwarber, pitching depth and bench depth and got Soler back from a fairly long injury. I don't think this is simply power pitching vs power pitching the Cubs have some really really good pitching and vice versa for Mets hitting. These are two very good teams and Baez is a hell of a backup ss, great d, not so much in game 3, and great power. He looks like a completely different player from last year. Castro really hot in last month too. Cubs have approximately 50-23 record since all-star break

Harvey V. Lester. Lester looked good on Fridays game so we'll see. Going to be a fun series.

A team can have three Hall of Fame pitchers and only one World Series title. How many people predicted the Braves would lose to the Marlins and the Padres?
