Such a great set. I still can’t believe I didn’t buy it. I remember seeing it on the shelf but I bought a bigger set that I had to lug through the mall and couldn’t carry anything else.

It looks amazing on your shelf!

Built my wife a bookshelf, half IKEA/half custom (moldings and trim), for her extensive book collection in for our Lego sets. This is only part of the bookshelf, but just showing how she’s put the Lego sets in between her book collection.

Looks great, thanks for sharing & Merry Christmas.

I just spoke with my sister an hour ago and apparently she’s gotten into reading about witchery & mysticisms. I think she’d dig your style

Truth.

Just finished the corvette and the natural history museum at home. My fiancée is getting into some Harry Potter stuff.

At the office I’ve decided to start each day with one bag of Lego. I’ve done a few extras some days but I’ve built the following sets in the past 6 months

Jaws, game boy, gumball machine, large nike shoe, foozeball machine, modular Tudor corner for my city at home, and the endurance. Currently working on the enterprise at office and probably gonna crack into the Viking village at home.

Some reselling wins - found 2 sealed NIB stranger things upside down in my storage untit, bought those and got 2x or 4x pts right before they retired. Up to like 700-800 each now, Msrp was 299 I believe.

My cousin that lives with me is currently working on a couple different Christmas sets he got over the last week.

We are gonna hit them with some spray when he's done and use them as ornaments/decorations next year...

He also got a number of the 3 in 1 science/astronaut Lego sets yesterday...
He'll only do one per box, so it'll be interesting to see which one he chooses...

I was hoping for a Back to the Future Delorean but Santa didn't take any of my hints...

I regret not getting the Mario question mark block before it retired.

Thanks, here’s a more recent update of that post. The weird thing is I’m not really a car guy, just the Lego car sets are fab.

My wife has since added Transformers Sound Wave. Ugh, I’m still waiting for her to build the Ducati I got her. Again, needed shelf space is a real thing.

The Defender is forever a “dream” car since in HS I had a 92’ Wrangler.

love the cars personally. Just the brick built ones though, could never really get into technic.

The 3 big ones in my picture are kind of hiding. I really just stick to pop culture vehicles.

Will have to add a picture of my smaller vehicles/speed champions when I get home from Christmas.

The Speed Champions Lightning McQueen and Delorean Time Machine releasing on January 1st are gunna be both day 1 pickups for me

I have been collecting for 15 plus years, I wish I would have just picked one theme with my boys and we could just stick with that.

We are currently getting older sets together to trade in at a brickco ounce Orlando. They give you store credit or cash.

We are taking a bunch of Minecraft built sets, Avengers, Harry Potter and Lego City.

We get a lot of loose bricks from thrift store, you would be surprised how many complete sets you can find or sealed sets.

We are always searching for ca king for minifigures but have settled in just set Star Wars sets and Christmas.

We have got to have close to 40 sealed sets from various years. No special reasons but if I found sets on sale we just got them and put them up.

We have some amazing Star Wars sets and I think our oldest set in Sponge Bob The Chum bucket still sealed.

Here is our Christmas display that w do ever year, I added two sets this year.

This is such a fascinating thread. I'm shocked there isn't a thread that has been dedicated to Lego on this site....maybe this thread can turn into one.

I'm not big into Lego, but am intrigued to learn more. My son got the Black Pearl - Set 4184 when he was young. Of course we don't have the box or the instructions (and I know better too), but he still has the complete set. A couple years ago he asked if I knew what just the Davy Jones figure was worth - had no idea.

So I did start thinking a little differently about Lego being an investment opportunity as well. My daughter loves Stranger Things, and pre-ordered the Creel house over the weekend.

I was curious about thoughts on the Avengers Tower - 76269. I read earlier about the "remade" sets, but then someone else mentioned the Daily Bugle which was also a remade set. But with 31 mini figures, the tower seemed like a decent investment opportunity?

There used to be a LEGO Ideas thread, but it died.

A previous poster mentioned how they were able to put together sets from loose bricks picked up at thrift stores or yard sales.

May be a dumb question, but do you literally just find the manuals online and then sort through each indivdual piece in hopes to put a set together? It seems very time consuming.

I usually just look for the mini figs when searching for Legos out in the wild to resell.

Leg titanic still in box used to ship to Lego store. I want to build the set, but also want to keep this set as is for as long as possible. Not sure if the shipping box adds any REALLY value, but neat nonetheless.

I use online manuals. My rule of thumb is 70 percent needs to be present for me to buy the sets, anything less than that and it takes too much trouble to get the correct pieces.

At one time we sold 200lbs of bulk pieces, that’s after we separated all the minifigure and accessories. You would not believe how many good sets can be found thrifting or yard sales.

You can take instructions and drop em in bricklink and it will put together different sellers and get you all the pieces for a set. Some folks (not me) are super organized with extra bricks.
