My mistake. I thought his auto was in 2017. Nonetheless, still further proves my point. Using Post Malone as the comparison to the Ari person isn't a great comparison.

You must be trolling at this point. But just in case you aren't, Ash is the main character in the pokemon series, the most successful media franchise of all time above the likes of Harry Potter, Star Wars, Mario, etc. It looks like this will be her first licensed auto of any kind.

I am not into Pokemon so that means nothing to me. It would make more sense to have that person in a Pokemon product instead.

The Pokemon cartoon has been on the air in the US for about 26 years. I feel confident it means plenty to other people who also have disposable income for collectible hobbies.

Not gonna get TOO deep into lore I'm not super familiar with but Ash is also looking to be the very best like no one ever was, so it fits the champions theme of the product in a sense.

I get that Ash might not be akin to Plastic Man to you but I'm sure he's a relevant character to many.

I just informed you that the pokemon franchise is literally bigger than star wars, mario, harry potter, etc and your response is that? The correct reply would have been "wow, I had no idea. I'm not into that personally, but it sounds like a ton of others are." Instead, you go with, "That means nothing to me, so it shouldn't be included" like only your interests make sense for inclusion. Good grief...open your mind a bit maybe

But isn’t the the entire premise of non baseball signers in Ginter?

This may be the biggest non baseball signer in Ginter in the last 5 years and possibly one of the top 5 ever.

Never underestimate how much an adult nerd will pay for their nostalgia

Typically they have greater earning power and much more disposable income as women generally don't give them much attention, and generally no kids to support

Would you do $65 for the pink pearl Nintendo DS on your eBay?

I'll admit I had to google every name on the list except Bomani Jones and Eric Stonestreet, but Ginter is still cool every year because you never know what's going to be worth something down the road.

Had no clue the disc golf dude from 2016 was going for so much until last night. I sold one for $2, not realizing they are going for $15+. I found a few more and even a mini. Cards that I thought were worthless will now net me around $100.

Everyone collects something.

YES! Something for everyone for sure. Disc golf, BMX, bowlers, fly fishing! etc. - it's nice when those folks are included in these sets for their fans. Love that about how this set has evolved over time.

She's not the original voice of the character. She was 10 when the show debuted in 1997. Another woman voiced the character for the first 8 seasons.

I'd rather they have motorsports/niche sports like Travis Pastrana than random ass bloggers and podcast hosts

Magnus Carlsen would be a huge add and he's yet to have any cards, or go down a tier in chess world and get Botez sisters

I just wish they spread the love out a bit more with musicians and highly acclaimed people from the film industry, both past and present

Tons of bands/artists i could think of that would likely be cheap, easy signings for topps that would fetch solid-high prices on the secondary

I could see bigger names of the motion picture industry being tougher gets, but who wouldn't want a Danny Elfman On-Card Ginter Auto!?

Um, yes, please. I have his Inkworks Sleepy Hollow auto. But I'd prefer a Ginter auto.

I doubt that it's more valuable than Kevin Costner, Federer, Pele', Axl Rose and Sylvester Stallone.

Goodwin Champions is the best option for those types of signers/subjects. In fact, Goodwin Champions checklist is stronger than A&G in some respects. Not all years, but any product where you can pull Tiger Woods and Michael Jordan, along with A-List celebs is a better product certain years.

I agree with the general point you're making. But in all fairness with that example, Post Malone wasn't super known at the time and potential there was much higher than a podcast/online personality. Post was up-and-coming in 2017 with only his first album out where best song was a rap song that may not be of interest with the greater part of the A&G collector base. He blew up from there and entered into some different genres as well and that card went up from there.

Post Malone was wildly popular before 2017. White Iverson was me and my college roommates go to song in like 2015/16 and his debut album was
