18 packs makes box wars "best refractor wins" less likely. Still probably cheaper to just let others rip and buy full set.

Where are people getting the product info from (i.e. # of cards per box & set size)?

There wasn't any info in the Topps email....

The picture says "18 packs per box, 5 cards per pack"

Nobody has info on set size yet.

I can't see this having much long term value, are people really going to go nuts over a refractor? What would the equivalent of 93 Finest be today, every card a refractor and 1 auto per box?

You can tell how old people are by their reaction to this product.

That's less than what 1993 finest cost when it came out 27 years ago...so I'm guessing prices will be much higher than that.

Yea, more new nonsense!

Even worse, online-only nonsense!

Yeah, but it was super premium back then. Now, it's just another in a list of Topps online only products. Who knows, perhaps they charge $129.99 a box...I won't touch it for that price.

For 1 refractor...ouch....the entire box better be a damn refractor and the serial numbered one color /99 or less.

If it's more than $50/box, IDK... Seems like it'd be cheap for them to produce. The base cards probably won't sell. I'm hoping it's $40-50 range + please let me have access through MC lol. Also, please no parallels. Big set, one refractor, no parallels, cheap cost = my dream.

I'd like to know the checklist first. The products that all appeal to me are the ones that don't appeal to flippers. Sure there's less upside, but maybe I actually have the chance to open something instead of watching box wars.

How well the base cards will sell will be a direct function of how easy/difficult is it to build the set.

For example, if it's less than $100/box (for 90 cards), and the set is 200-300 cards, then a lot of people (myself included) will likely try and build the set.

If it's priced too high, then you'll lose set-builders, and demand for base cards will decrease.

Checklist quality will also be important....I'd love to see cards of retired HOFers included (like Museum & Ginter, for example), not just active players.

Wasn’t the original 1993 no inserts except the one refractor per box, and the box went for something like $200-300 even back in those days? And with inflation, double those prices for today’s money.

The original product, if I remember correctly, was $2-3 per pack, so around $50 per 18 pack box, which got you only 90 cards.

Keep in mind that at that point in time, the next highest price product was Upper Deck, at 99 cents/pack or $36 per box. And that got you 540 cards per box.

Not sure how reliable my memory is, though....maybe someone can find some pricing info in an old Beckett or SCD....

Nooo, original was $20 a pack, you are probably thinking 1991 Stadium that was $2-3 a pack.

carried a suggested retail price of $3.99. The product was a smashing success upon release with pack prices immediately soaring well above the $20/pack point.

That sounds accurate, I certainly never remember seeing it for $4, it was $20 as soon as it came out at the few LCS that had it.

Try finding any of the 2013 Finest 93 Finest All-Star Refractors /10. So rare, and set collectors gobbled these up super fast. This set should be huge from a nostalgia aspect alone.
