Where were you? You were so active in posting your platinum openings, but we haven't seen much when it comes to platinum masterpieces. Show us your spoils.

Nothing worth noting. Hulk, Phoenix blue pmgs, 7-8 golds, 7-8 red pmgs. A massive pile of garbage. Pull rates on this release were garbage.

Interesting that ePack seem to be more like 2 numbered minimum a box, compared to physical which was more like 1.6 (small sample size though).

As for Hulk…he does have the prestige of gracing the original 92 box and so sort of symbolizes the set. He’s up there no question. However I’m skeptical there are as many Hulk collectors as there are of Gambit, Black Cat, Cap, Surfer, or even like Dr Doom. That’s why I’d put him in the tier 4 above.

I ended up buying a box worth, couple packs at a time last night. If anyone wants to swap base hit me up on epack, I also have this available for another card of similar value

Is there any way to derive the pull rate on e-pack? If they were “loaded”, it could slightly change the math on the total number of hobby boxes, although not to the same degree it changed the math on the base cards

I have plenty of leftover stuff if anyone is trying to finish achievements or pick up their character. I have very little on my wish list at the moment, so just send a fair offer over - keep it similar characters and values on stuff.

I don’t think there’s a direct way to know what the numbered pull rate on ePack is. People could post what they opened and # of numbered hit, like above, and it could be roughly estimated from small samples I guess. One could total up the #’d on the ePack marketplace as a proportion of total cards or base, and get a very rough estimate, but problem there is if people are transferring #’d off at higher rates than other cards- it involves assumptions. The good news is that with ePack being so small, maybe near 5%-ish, it shouldn’t affect the total that much (I understand that 5% number itself uses the 175k box number, so it’s assuming the very thing in question that’s being affected, but regardless of the specific number, I don’t think anyone thinks the ePack proportion is bigger than a small amount- not much more than 10%. People after all seem to be pulling about 2 numbered a box on epack).

With higher inserts and numbered cards pull rate from epacks and the price differences in the boxes, I don't think I'll open any physical boxes until the major retailers drop the prices to $150. I don't think they'll hold onto the boxes for a long time and slowly selling them. Unless UD gave them really good terms, it's too much money tide up for a long period of time. Hypothetically, if UD made 175,000 boxes and allocated 10% to epack, and 90,000 between the big 3. and the rest to the distributors, assuming equal distribution, that's still 30,000 boxes per retailer, and assuming at the price of $100 a box, that's $3MM tide up, in addition to other products they need to carry.

Anyone think PMGs from this set aren't going to be sought after since they seem to deter from the norm? You have the MM92 art, but prices have been down on PMGs too. I don't like how they dont say precious metal gems on the front.

PMG is normally a speculator/investor parallel, so it's hard for collectors to imagine how they would react. If I venture a guess, I would think that the ones with the white border issues are going to go for less and the ones without the white border issues would go for more, since it's a variant of a very iconic and nostalgic set.

It’s a singles/set collectors kind of set instead of a wax ripping/gambling set. The expected return value on opening wax is stupidly low. But picking up singles even of parallels is affordable and fun.
It’s not the missing text that bothers me as much as the white border issues. The latter are far worse for the aesthetic imo. I do see PMGs generally taking a sizeable hit. The ones without the issue probably perform noticeably better long term.

I picked up 3 more packs last night to go with the 5 I bought last week.
Best card was a Wolverine holofoil. All told for the 8 packs, I ended up with 4 canvas, 2 clear cut, 1 each of Rainbow/Leather/Holofoil/Plexi/Red Prism/CornerBox/FantasticCovers. For variant covers, I got 2 regular and 3 rainbow. I was glad to end up with 18 actual cards from 8 packs, and just 14 of the virtual cards. I don't do a lot of Epack, but there sure seems to be a lot less trading than a few years ago. I haven't received any offers at all for either cards from the 8 total packs of 92 MM Platinum or even the 2022 Marvel Masterpieces cards from the 5 packs of those I got in October.

Impulse bought a spidey mini box for $30 on COMC.
Only time will tell but it's a nice looking card.

Blaster 14:
![]() I don't think this case is going to yield a base set. Six boxes to go and I have 30 missing and nearly 60 severely OC cards. |

The Mini Boxes and Kaleidoscopes are probably going to be fairly rare from what I can tell.
The mini-boxes disappear when you redeem, so every Kaleidoscope means ten less mini boxes available.

I had that in cart and stupidly sent an offer instead of just buying it. I thought I was gonna have to pay double for the eBay auction but luckily won it for $38. Picked up a Wolverine and Psylocke off BIN as well |

So how do these achievement-based cards work? Like, they aren’t printing on demand so there should theoretically be X amount made… if only 50% of them are actually redeemed, what happens to the rest of them? |

So 2 purple variants in one case? Crazy. Definitely helping the case purple variants being in a case on average. I think I’d even be ok without a whole base set with those stellar hits tbh. The Wolvie Holofoil jdandns is a heckuva hit for 3 packs- I bet that looks amazing in hand. Nailed it!
