Whoever decided that serial numbering should be on the front should be drawn and quartered. Their place has always been on the back

Unfortunately, for my budget level, I think I'm too late to the game for the BB15 blue refractor (I do have a few base and refractors, at least). But my focus has primarily been on his 2019 cards; until very recently, that Bowman Next could still be a had at a pretty reasonable price, considering its print run and year of issue.

I'm really struggling to understand the obsession with 2021 Bowman's Best for Witt. I would still take a raw 2020 Sapphire over a 2021 Blue Bowman's Best /150. Still upset I traded mine. Seams like an obvious choice to go with the 1st Sapphire to me, but looks like I'm clearly missing something.

I guess I don't get this obsession on 2021 Best for prospects.

The way I look at it, regardless of whether you consider the '21 BB cards true rookies or not, it is a unique situation in sports cards and I'd rather have them than not have them. There isn't a blue left on eBay now, for example, but still plenty of Sapphire to go after. Like hammertime says, why not both? In fact, why not all three once 2022 TC comes out?

Not only are blues drying up, someone (or a few different people) made a run on Aqua lavas last night.

For me it just comes down to having an interesting collection. I have his 2019 Franchise Favorites atomic, his Bowman Stat Tracker auto, his first edition 1st Bowman, his Mega Box 1st Bowman, some BB15’s, and soon I’ll be adding some flagship and Topps Chrome when they release. Tracking down cool stuff is a part of the fun for me.

Looking forward to getting my oranges and gold back soon from PSA. I also own some sapphires. If you believe in the player, why not own multiple releases? He won’t have a “flagship” release for a while!

Agree 100%. This has been my approach from the beginning - to build an interesting collection that tells the story of Witt’s (hopefully stellar) career, including the fact that he was an intensely hyped, perhaps overhyped, prospect. BB15 and the debate surrounding it just adds an additional fun element to the whole thing. My collection is nothing special - no autos, no rare parallels, nothing with the potential to really become pricy (other than the 2019 Bowman Next, perhaps) - but it’s colorful and will be fun to look at with the kids over the years as Witt (again, hopefully) develops into a Royals legend.

Still wish I’d been paying enough attention to pick up a blue BB15 early on, though!

Gotcha. I also collect all years and releases of Marco, so understand that point. Just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing some connection to 21 BB to prospects. Understand the rookie connection with Wander, but he was called up.

Looks to be also a clear hobby preference for Bowmans Best over Sterling. I'm for sure not on the same side of that with my collection. But appreciate everyone always collecting what they like.

The big argument with 2021 Bowman’s Best was that all 30 prospect card were RCs not just Wander’s. Getting called up in a certain year has no impact on what defines a rookie card, at least by the old school definition. In the modern RC Logo Era, Topps will usually wait until they’re called up before putting them in a flagship release. There’s plenty of examples and exceptions on each side. Either way, BB15 is really cool card, and the blue refractor looks particularly amazing. So it was an easy buy for me.

you wont hear me say the word "true", but there are 30 Rookie Cards in 2021 Bowman's Best that are not in anything else (unless 2021 Bowman Heritage is ever released as it was advertised, then there would be 150 new RCs)

I hear ya. Collect what you like. I’ll say this, BB20 refractors are pretty cheap right now, so no harm is picking one up just for fun if you’re a fan of his. I picked up a base refractor of his for $3.

I can chime in on this. I noted that one of my blues had the dimple, but both graded 10s
