Really? Wow....

So if someone is ill or cannot afford healthcare, what should they do? Say a prayer?

Aetna.

They just left several states because the profit wasn't as large as they want it to be.

I have to say President Obama has done such a great job. The man wants all Americans to have access to affordable healthcare, gave the go ahead to kill bin Laden, helped the economy, saved jobs and now this...

Obama Creates Connecticut-Size Ocean Park, First in Atlantic

What can't this man do?

Well...according to a highly successful black businessman, he shortchanged his own people.

Clarka...you are better than to grab on to some nonsense like this. We all know Junior was not talking about those gas chambers.

Respect the hell out of this post. I can't stand the whole "well they did it too" excuses. Either we want our elected officials to be better than that or we don't. There is none of this, "well they did xyz so it's ok that my candidate does xyz too!"

Free healthcare over here. The British system is rated the best in the world too, whereas the US came last of the eleven nations in the 2014 study.

No capital punishment here either...

With the money that Obamacare is costing us, we could outright buy coverage for everyone in these sorts of situations. Only 11.3 million signups since inception. Would have saved a ton of money just buying plans for them.

Get the help you need and pay payments like the rest of us do. Very few of us can pop out 2 or 3 grand or whatever the case may be at once but most if not all hospitals will gladly work out a plan.

20 million people have gained health insurance coverage because of the Affordable Care Act, new estimates show | HHS.gov

These were the numbers several months ago.

Progress is being made. I am glad people are getting healthcare. Still a long ways to go but it is a start. Hopefully, the next president continues this humanitarian care.

You could make that number 40 million, and it would still be cheaper to just buy it for them...

$1.2 Trillion buys a lot of insurance.

I donate to what I choose. I don't need the Government to donate my tax money because majority of people can't pay their bills. If people had a choice in donating to universal healthcare it wouldn't be funded.

This is sad... I'm glad I live in a country where health care is a RIGHT.. yes, we have the private system which is for those who can afford it, but never the less, everyone has access to a level of decent healthcare through the public system...

The unfortunate part is that it seems some people think it's ok to let people die if they can't afford to live

Seems like the American system is fine if you're rich... just like the way the rest of it works

Do you have any idea how fast bills can add up even for those with decent insurance? Sure, you can make payments.... one to the doctor, the anesthesiologist, the faculty, lab, x-ray, etc..... Even paying $25 bucks a month to each of them ( which most aren't happy with at all) it still adds up pretty damn quick when you have a family member who requires regular hospital care.

No one should have to live in poverty because they got sick. The current system is ridiculous.

Yes I do. I don't live in a fantasy world like some in this thread. Other people shouldn't have to struggle picking up the bill for someone else either.
