That all remains to be seen but I’m a lot more optimistic than I was a month or so ago. I just hope the rebuild is a few years and not a decade or more.

Yeah, agreed. I'm much more optimistic with Mike Elias as GM than I would've been with Coletti or someone like that.

Nah, he claimed he did. Coolbaugh Said he only worked with him 3 times.

Since this thread hasn't been touched in over a month, I figured I'd share some good news finally that some of you may have already heard. Brooks and Eddie will be at fanfest this year! Anyone planning on going? Probably the best news we will get all year (hopefully not)!

I see. Any chance that Beckham or Renato Nunez will surprise? What do you think about the outlook on Hays and Sisco?

Beckham is not on the active roster and is a free agent. I like Nunez, however as a backup, not a starter. Also, I like both Hays and Sisco, but without a supporting and veteran cast it may be very difficult for them. I think they'll both do okay, but nothing spectacular within the first couple years.

I like Sisco, but he’s gonna be a Matt Wieters and not some type of star. I just hope CD can hit this year and at least bring something mildly interesting to the field. Or Angelo could get dementia and sign Machado, Harper, Keuchel, and Kimbrel.

I’m lookin forward to Austin Hays having a solid season....and if he hits in front of Davis he might lead the league in walks....and by league I mean the World.
Dark horse for me is still Hunter Harvey....I might have too much faith in the kid but he does have phenomenal stuff when healthy.

Will have to miss this FanFest, but given the auto groupings, I don't think I will be missing much.

Plus the SGA giveaways in last couple years have been pretty weak.

If anyone is going to fan fest and will be available during the 12:40-1:40 Eddie Murray session please PM me. I picked up a ticket for this session but will not be able to attend. If someone is willing to help me out in getting the Murray auto you can take the other two players for yourself and I'll also provide a little extra compensation.

Yeah, saw this yesterday.

Looks like we will be losing an all-time Oriole (and baseball) great.

Fun question:

Ignoring the added value to the Orioles from hoopla and jersey sales etc, would you trade Chris Davis straight up for Bryce Harper right now? Davis is a warm body signed through 2022 at $23mm a year whereas Harper has 13 years at $25mm of injuries, drama, and under performance.

I think the Harper contract might be the worst contract of all time which is where this is coming from after chatting with friends about it. It’s obvious which player makes the most sense for the next few years, but given where the Orioles are as a team and looking long term what would you do?

Hard to predict 2 years in the future, much less 13. No way I want the O's saddled with 13 years of significant long-term obligation.

Is now the right time to bring up Ubaldo?

This may be the most ridiculous comment I have seen on these boards in years -- and that is saying something.

I'm not a Harper fan and preferred the Phils to sign Machado instead, but your Harper hate must be pretty intense.

Glad that you backed up your logic with stats.
