When I was buying there was a seller on eBay with something in the neighborhood of 600 for sale. I bought 50 card lots from him a few times on eBay.

How hard were the Acuna SP to pull in Series 2? Hobby vs Jumbo? I didn't open any of it this year.

Transcendent: 9.5 - 10/10/9.5/9.5

Also had a Soto Bowman Breakthrough, Malcolm Brogdon Black Prizm, and my avatar all gem. Only 9 subgrade in the whole order was on the corners for the Soto. Will show some pics when I get them back!

Sweet- Can’t wait to see the heritage black refractor
Congrats!

Congrats! Nice to see Transcendent getting a true gem mint. I was not sure how they would grade given the borders.

I said it before, but the Transcendent definitely had surface scratches. But I compared it to other Transcendent base I have, and they all had the same issue. So I subbed it anyway.

Like the bad centering on the reverse of the Sapphire, I think BGS takes into account the sensitivity of the cards at baseline.

Or they just don’t care and will give a gem to anything. Entirely possible.

So, Acuna guys, i have a question..... Which would hold its value better longterm? I paid the exact same amount for both cards and got in on them before the big price hike of the SSP. Im kind of debating on letting one of go. So instead of making a thread and clogging up room for important threads like "should i rip or stash" and "if you had $500..." I figured id ask here, ye ol' Acuna thread.

Orange /25 & Update SSP

If I had to choose, I'd keep the SSP I just dig it more. Preferably I would keep both

Orange /25 & Update SSP
Let go half of each JK. I would let go of the TU White Jersey SSP and keep the low numbered TC Orange refractor/25. It will easy to find the SSP than orange/25 in the future if he becomes an HOF-er. Personally, I like to keep both.

Orange TC is from his actual FIRST Topps Chrome release.

Update SSP is from his SECOND base Topps release and I STILL don't understand why Update stuff is as high priced as it is.

im sure this will change, but as of this writing, the picture used on the Update SSP is only on that card. there are no parallels of that card

there are 48623 different parallels of that TC

Keep the SSP. It will win long-term hands down.

furthermore, if you had posted that Orange alone, and said it was a red, or a pink, we'd not know

Tough call, I think if you are going short term the SSP has a good chance to see a quick rise because it is en vogue right now and it'll probably see more action because Update is still hot.

I would personally go for the Orange Refractor though as I think the Topps Chrome is being overlooked at the moment. Hard to comprehend that Topps Chrome Base are even close to Update Base in price right now. Update is hot now but he already has a Series 2 card that is not shared with another player.

Short Term SSP is good, long term I think the Orange is more solid.

Disclaimer, I have all of them Topps Chrome, Update, Update SSP

Doesn't really mean anything IMO.

It will always be weird to me how people are valuing 2nd Topps releases during the same year for Acuna. I get the no color #698 SP issue but that's really it.

In the past, Topps SP have not been worth more than Chrome /25. Ie - Machado.

But I guess Acuna/Soto changed everything.

This is my thinking. I do have an Orange and want a SSP because it is one of the bettering looking cards. There was a breakdown a couple pages back of the SSP and it the print run was higher than I thought considering the current PSA pop report. I was awesome wrong on the Sapphire

Keep both if you don't need the money

Why do people still argue "A was released before B" with rookie cards? After a few years, no one will remember the order that they were released. 2018 rookies will be 2018 rookies.
