Completely agree on the actual release date but can understand for preorders they may not be ready or want to gauge interest first. I do know that’s even a bit sketchy though especially if they change dramatically from what’s expected.

Why? You'll be able to buy an unnumbered set for $10 or less a month or two after release.

The odds of pulling an auto are ridiculously low. Spend over $10k to get 1 auto? The Panini Instants were spend $200 get an auto /5 or 1/1 and parallel /5 or 1/1. Obviously the Topps have bigger chases but there would have to be 25% the amount of packs or the price be less than half to be worth it imo.

I said it’s basically $100 for 3 cards but for 99.9% of people that insert will be worthless too so it's really $100 for 2 cards.

People purchased for 1 of 2 reasons. The vast majority to resell the boxes sealed. A small portion to open and hope for a very long odds hit. Based on everything listed and any recent sales for John Cena your odds of coming out ahead on this opening are as low as any wrestling hobby product I can think of. 90%+ of boxes will have less than $25 worth of cards. But the biggest issue is for the vast majority of sellers those cards are unsellable. Very few want to have to deal with selling very cheap cards. For the vast majority its equal to working for less than minimum wage.

There is 1 huge chase card. The Rock/Cena dual 1/1 auto. Outside of that how many cards are worth more than $3000? Is there anything besides the Cena jumbo patch auto with a patch from his least desirable match the whole year and maybe a few dual 1/1 autos? Your odds of pulling any auto at even MSRP of $99.99 a pack are spending over $10,000 to get 1 auto. There are 2 cards max in the entire product worth more than $10,000. If you're buying at resale to open this may be as bad as any wrestling rip ever.

I don't know how accurate it is, but 130 point shows 2 Cena sales all time above $5k. There are multiple Prizm 1/1, Topps Chrome superfractor 1/1, NT dual auto with Hogan 1/1, Leaf dual 1/1 auto with Rock that are all well under $5k. There is a recent NT Cena patch auto 1/1 that did a whole $1225. Even The Rock Cena dual Leaf 1/1 auto only sold for $3k a few months ago. If you think the Topps 1 is worth 10 times that then the best hit in this product is $30k. I think most would agree that's a big reach. Even then, buying at MSRP 1 in 8350 chance to hit a card worth $30k, 1 other card probably worth less than half that, and a handful of other cards worth $2k-$4k. Great odds!

Although if that recent Flawless 1/1 auto sale is real maybe Cena's market has all of a sudden skyrocketed. Based on every other sale I can see that is the 1 outlier that makes no sense.

He will probably never wrestle again, but if The Rock had a retirement match and they did a set similar to this those would be worth $99.99 a pack. Unfortunately, Topps would probably charge $499.99 a pack.
