Funny you mention this.

I almost posted earlier today that it all the ladies in the gym were carrying towels and vigorously wiping down the equipment before and after using them—but that would have been a weird thing to post.

Now it makes more sense.

I started running a year ago

Went from not being able to run a mile without multiple stops to running 70+ miles a month - running 3-4 times a week (3-7 miles a run)

Goal for 2025 is to lose a little more weight and move on from pure cardio activities to adding in weight/resistance training.

Good luck to all in their goals!

Gross.

Quarter squats and slight knee valgus on a few of those sets.

My goal this year is to be able to dunk again. I’ve never been a person to workout, never interested in the gym but always into sports. I could dunk in my 20s and now in my 30s the best I can do is grab the rim

I’m ~6ft 160 and in good shape but obviously need to add some lower body strength if I want to dunk again.

Since I’ve never really worked out in my life I asked chatGPT to create me a workout plan.

I play pickup 3 days a week for a couple hours and 1 league game so I’m going to workout Tuesday/Thursday/Saturday at the gym and Sunday at home. I will measure my current standing vert but I’m guessing I need to add 6”

This may not even be possible and honestly even if I add a couple inches I’ll be impressed with myself. I have no idea what to expect. I don’t even know what I could squat right now for example. I feel like I could definitely do bodyweight with a back squat but no idea how much more

Over the next week I’ll measure my vert and figure out what my 1 rep max is for each lift. So I can see the progress throughout the year.

I've never jump trained before. Maybe I should tag along and see what my white boy vert can turn into.

Please post whatever exercises you end up doing to improve your vert.

With one workout left to go tomorrow, I've currently lifted 12,644,612 lbs at the gym this year—just over a million pounds per month. It looks like my average workout volume was about 48,000 pounds moved.

Going to shoot for 15 million in 2025.

My goal is to keep my weight the same at 180 lbs at 6' and get my abs showing again before I turn 47. Been working really hard at the gym, but not concentrating on moving more weight.

I am only eating around 2000 calories a day, but always hitting 200 grams of protein. My resting heart rate right now is in the 40's, guess my running days in the past is responsible for that. Think my body is in hibernation mode, so I need to get in 6000 to 10,000 steps to burn the rest of this fat off.

First run in the books for me! It was a crisp 36 degrees outside. Finishing was a bit of a struggle but I did it and I was happy with my pace. Take away like 20 seconds because of my stupid gloves that are touch friendly wouldn’t work.

I started going to the gym in late November. Have been going 3-4 days a week treadmill. Just recently started running. Have gone from a 17 minute mile (generally do 3 miles at a time) to 13:08 yesterday. Have lost 60 pounds since October 8th.

My gym has been talking about adding a sauna in 2025.

I was excited for it.

Now I'm having second thoughts.

Still waiting to actually measure my vert since I hurt my foot and haven't been playing.

Back of the napkin math tells me at 6' you can probably dunk off an alley oop around 36" vert. Based on being able to grab my rim my vert is probably around 30".

Not sure how much weight I can put on my foot currently, walking and light running without pain so far. Hopefully should get started with some routine within the next couple weeks.

chatGPT and internet are telling me pretty much squats on squats and all kinds of box jumps mixed in with some stretching and core work. Leg day, every day

If my vert is in the double digits inch-wise, I'll be happy with that start. lol
