The pandemic has really dampened my US purchases because I used to be able to ship to a border mail facility and pick them up but now that's out until such a time as vaccinations are caught up and things are safe again. It's not economically feasible to ship to one of the reshippers and then to canada - it's just as cheap to buy with GSP.

I understand why people would use GSP - I won't buy from them but that's probably fine for both parties. I've worked around it by finding a small number of trusted sellers who I now have a relationship with and who will sell directly to me and ship either in PWE or First Class puffie. The funny thing is that PWE seems to be by far the fastest and most reliable of the services but the parties have to trust each other.

The guy in the first video didn't seem to know what was going on. I sent a package by this method to a Canadian buyer. 7 ounces for $10.00. The buyers name and address was on the form, but the actual shipping address for me was to Erlanger, Kentucky. So, it appears that we are still sending items to KY, and they are being forwarded to Canada by eBay.

I will watch the second video later and see if is more thorough than the other one.

That is how the GSP works it goes to Erlanger. Once there the seller is off the hook for the item.

I can see not wanting to buy cards through GSP but larger items can actually be cheaper. I've sold several IDW Artist's editions through GSP and they charged about 1/2 of what it would cost me to ship them.

I'm not talking about GSP. I am talking about the eBay International Standard Shipping program.

Too many problems with international shipments. Without GSP, I wouldn't ship outside the US so if I stop using GSP, I stop selling internationally

Same here, I use to open hockey and ship to Canada.
Haven't opened it for like 5 or 6 years, so there's no reason to ship outside of the US.

I just had someone from Puerto Rico reach out to me about buying something fairly large size wise for $200+ after shipping. GSP doesn't send items to PR so how do you guys ship to PR? Or do you bother?

puerto rico is US

I'd be more worried about trying to get something out of NY right now.

May take a month to get to them, even though we are talking priority.

I know its a US territory. I'd be worried about them returning the item and sticking me with a double shipping bill. Just had it happen from a buyer who lied about the return reason to get around my 30 day buyer pays return label. Cost me $40 on $30 item.

I wasn't aware NY was having such delays. Are you positive? I've had no complaints from anyoneabout delays and I sell about 5-8 things a day. Though I admit I haven't checked to see if the items are getting there.

returns suck esp large items.

yeah, new york has received all the mail from most of new hampshire because of covid closes, and ups dumped millions of packages on usps to deliver. the man in charge has said no extra hires, no OT, and now is saying if you get covid you are fired. He can't do that but yeah, the postal system is a mess. I have things I'm waiting on sitting in ny which were shipped out in november. I have items I've shipped from here weeks ago which haven't left arizona. boston is also a mess. my mother in law had an item go from out to delivery, to being sent to boston and now it's lost there.

we have family in the system and they have been updating us as to why things are a sh*tshow right now.

True fact.
Been selling on Ebay since 1999 and have never had packages go missing like we're seeing now.
I'm done selling until things get better, if they get better.
Not trying to get political, but I wonder how many ballots ended up in the USPS twilight zone.

I considered stopping sales until things clear up. The problem I have is I have to keep selling so I can cover any refunds. I currently have over 40 packages missing In Action and that's after 14 packages from November 25th finally updated over the weekend.

It’s crazy. And tracking is useless at the moment.

Yeah, especially when your buyers open a claim saying they havent got their item, and ebay holds your funds-- despite there being a tracking number that both ebay and that jackwad can see.. it got held up for two weeks at one depot- sorry nothing I can do..

Why wouldn't they hold that money? Paypal has done it for years for most sellers some who were in Paypal plus did not see it happen but most sellers it happened. It only makes sense for them to. You can think scamming sellers for that.

Well tracking does have its uses now. Ebay will not rule on a case until an item has been dead for more than 10 business days from when the buyer escalated. It if during the 10 days the tracking updates again then the clock starts over.

I am down to 3 that were sent from the 29th to the 6th of December. Most of my packages last week have at least updated. I still have yet to have a buyer open a claim so there is that. Friend of mine between Amazon and Ebay has out of 176 packages sent the week I mentioned and has 43 cases opened on them.

Amazon is worse than Ebay when it comes to how they handle these situations as they are with most problems.

I just got my first complaint. Purchased last Tuesday. Was supposed to be there Saturday, not there yet so they filed a request demanding their money back or the item. I can't magically make the package show up.

Edit: The total is now 3 today alone. I also noticed I have not gotten any emails from ebay today since midday. Anyone else having the same problem? I got notification emails for listing items but nothing for messages, returns, sales?
