I have had this happen all the time. Generally in my experience someone will write a note saying the offer is for multiple items. So check to see what exactly they are offering for.

I have also had this happen where the person says "this is my price with free shipping."

Odd thing is they wrote nothing in the notes section and I already was offering free shipping. I am dumbfounded. I almost don't want to accept it!

Look at the buyer's location. Are they in the US? If you checked the Global Shipping Program box when listing the item, the buyer will still see shipping and handling charges, even though you have it listed with free shipping.

I would decline it if they ARE an international buyer. Guaranteed headache and non payment case.

New York...I can't figure it out. I guess I should accept and see what happens? They have low feedback (17) but nothing bad and don't seem to leave much feedback for sellers.

Perhaps a new ebay buyer doesn't get the Best Offer concept and just threw out their "Best offer"?

Maybe they thought the highest bid was 17.99 and they were trying to put in a bid for 18.25.

Both valid reasons. I accepted so I guess we will see what happens!

Could get you suspended from Ebay. Ebay uses programs that often catch these type things and they consider off Ebay transactions to be a big violation. I usually block and report buyers who offer that.

I consider that stealing, even if there wasn't a rule. They came to me via eBay and not through any independent marketing. My soul is worth more than 9%. If it were 11% I'd have to do some thinking.

I don't, however, believe that eBay owns that customer for life. Transactions off eBay after that would be fine.

I got slapped for telling a buyer who made an offer that was too low what my bottom price was. Ebays bots picked it up and I was given a warning about off Ebay transactions. Just because you hav not gotten caught does not mean it cannot and won't happen. Many sellers have been suspended for off Ebay transactions.

I have had messages blocked for trying to send sizes or sending an email address so a buyer can send a better photo of what he called damage.

I have too. I probably sell 20-30 of my 100 eBay transaction per month outside of eBay. I receive a message via eBay messages and we discreetly exchange email addresses and complete the transaction that is beneficial to us both. I don't own eBay stock, so I have no incentive to report it. 16 years of my service and they are quite happy.

Not bad. I bought a brand new trumpet in 1988 for $550. Sold it in 2001 for $200.

Looks like I'm going to go get my trumpet from elementary school out and see what it's worth!

Sales still slow for anyone, last two weeks has probably been almost a 50% drop off.

Well honestly I was leary. It does not benefit the buyer at all so why not have them pay thru ebay. I politely asked them to just purchase thru ebay if they wanted it. Its ok sold this afternoon around 4 pm. I knew it wouldn't take long it was priced competitively. Got 15 more than I was offered here as usual.

Exactly! Just have to be smart about it. Instead of saying "hey will u take $30 off ebay??" lol i always message "will you take 30 direct for this?" or similar. the seller generally knows what you mean. easy peasy. people who 'get caught' deserve to

Question for you guys- A guy just ordered a $3 air jordan tank from me and it was all correctly listed and I say that I do not accept returns. He wants a refund because it doesn't fit him right even though the right size was listed. Do I have to accept the refund? He is now threatening to leave a negative if I don't refund him.

Suggestions? Thanks in advance

Report to eBay because that is obvious feedback extortion.

Just refund him. Even if you listed the tag size it is possible, and probable when dealing with used clothes, that it didn't fit him correctly.

Picked up some great items tonight. Found my second Starter Pro Line underline script sweatshirt ever and it might be the best team to find.

when you guys track your sales for tax purposes, do you record the price of each item you purchase with or without sales tax?

PITA this week.

Not a thrift store fine, but an auction steal.

WWII Flash Suppressor Hider M1 Hider Flash Spain Clamp On | eBay

Found that in a ten dollar box of random junk.

It sold to a buyer in Canada and was going through the Ebay Global Shipping program.

About 3 days after it sold, I received an email that he hadn't received it and it showed delivery to KS. He opened a case on it for not being delivered yet.

I explained to him, that morning, that it goes there for the shipping program and it should be on the way.

That afternoon I received an email from ebay saying it can't be delivered, and the buyer will be refunded and seeing as how I have been paid, I should consider this transaction complete.

I call ebay and explain to them that I have a case against me for something I no longer have any control over and they side with me on the case and unfreeze the $31.

I receive another email from the buyer and I try to explain to him what has happened and I have no control at this point on his dealings with ebay. I explained everything as best as I could.

He didn't respond for a couple of days, and then sent me an email saying he was completely disappointed and ebay was ignoring him and all that jazz.

Nothing I can do, but this only the second time I've used the ebay global shipping and both times have had problems.
