30 games into the season, and Acuna already has half the amount of steals as last year!

Tie for first in runs scored (26 runs in the 30 Braves games to date)
2nd in hits
3rd in batting average
tied for 3rd in doubles
17/20 BB/K ratio
1st in SBs
5th in OPS
2nd/3rd in WAR for hitters depending on where you look (2.0/1.9)

and leading the Braves to 3rd best record currently.

May not get to 40 hrs but tracking for 25-30. Seems like sacrificing a bit of hrs for everything else is a great tradeoff. Learning to be more selective (walking more/striking out a lot less) and seeing a big bump up in the batting average department seems like one of the toughest thing to improve on so that's been a very good surprise. Ronnie did hit .303 in the minors over 265 games but that was the minors. Not much more one can ask from their leadoff guy.

His straight line pace is 27/75. He'd really have to pick up the HR pace to get to 40.

Side note - Rickey Henderson had a 28/87 season (1986)

Major League Baseball announced that Braves outfielder Ronald Acuña Jr has won the NL Player of the Month award for April.

Acuña posted a strong .352/.440/.546 slash line and was an absolute terror once he reached base, pacing all players with 13 stolen bases. No player had more multihit games during the season’s first month than Acuña’s 13.

Can he win comeback player of the year?

The card market must really be dead for his stuff not to be going up. Huge favorite for MVP

There have been 2 players in MLB history to hit at least 25 HRs and steal 80 bases. Eric Davis and Rickey Henderson. Both happened in 1986

As the weather warms up so will Acunas HR totals. I doubt any of us would be surprised when he has multiple times this season when he has 5 homers in a week long period.

Yes, but he needs to get the ball in the air. I don’t doubt that he will but the fb/gb ratio needs to get figured out. You don’t hit home runs into the ground and he’s been doing a lot of that so far.

I noticed a massive increase in the ebay listings total after I sold most of mine. When I gandered a few weeks back, there was some incredibly nice 1/1's just sitting. I would say everyone needs to see him finish the whole season and finish strong before something changes (Barring a broad economic issue in this country before the fall).

Eric Davis went 27/80 also in 1986

Lol this is not how the card market usually works. I suspected the market would hit a slump overall this year. It's a shame

30/50 more likely.

Not sure how many times that has happened.

As long as Acuna keeps doing what he’s doing, I don’t care about HR’s.

.400 babip suggests the average will regress some, especially true if he isn’t hitting the ball out of the park.

Ronnie quickly establishing himself as the most complete hitter in baseball.

His “new”(?) approach this season is reflected in his .350+ BA and when he sees something he knows he can destroy, he unloads with that gorgeous swing
