It seemed to me like the slider was working as a strikeout pitch tonight so he was sticking with it. The split is hard on his arm and I would not be surprised if he were conserving it.

It was a zero - zero game going into the bottom of 7th, so I don't think Ohtani will get the "loss"?
I mean, as a team they might, but Ohtani won't get the record of loss as a pitcher.
