Saw the grades. Have few head scratchers so we'll have to see when I get the cards on hand.
I was a little stumped by my last sub too - not my usual batting average

Grades popped and it was one of the best graded submissions I have had in a long time by any company. By best I don't mean high grades, which is how most people judge grading. My vintage was graded fairly and not over graded at all. The sports grading team is probably small at this point and they are doing a great job IMO.

I will add that I think the biggest issue of grading consistency is the current size of grading teams. Since CGC has very few sports card graders, they team is very small and well trained.

CGC Cards Announces On-site Grading Fees for the 2024 National
Posted on 6/18/2024

Break cards but not the bank! Submit your sports cards, TCGs and non-sports cards for on-site grading and get them back before the end of the show — at the best prices.

CGC Cards™ is excited to once again offer the most attractive option for on-site grading at the upcoming 2024 National Sports Collectors Convention at the I-X Center in Cleveland, Ohio, happening July 24-28, 2024. With on-site grading, submitters get their cards graded and returned by the end of the show, saving time and shipping fees. See below for pricing!

And more big news is on the way! CGC Cards is preparing to launch combined CGC and JSA autograph authentication services for cards just in time for The National, along with a full launch of CGC Signature Series for cards. Stay tuned for announcements with availability and pricing for autograph services.
I just logged into my account today to create one final submission and I just noticed that the renewal rates are now $20 less. Does a CGC Premium or higher renewal also include the $150 in grading credit?

Both Premium and Elite come with the $150 CGC credit.

The best way to renew is to always get the Premium at $129 first. It is a free $21 with credits. Then get elite if you plan on grading over 120 bulk cards. You get a $150 credit for each. However, CGC doesn't keep track of this well. I had to send multiple emails to get my second $150 credit.

Is the $20 discount for auto-renewal an additional $20 savings on top of their "special" price?

I think when I initially joined at the premium level I played $99.

Those prices were with discount codes. All of the one's I used in the past stopped working. I think now premium is at $129 and that is the lowest unless someone knows a working discount code. In the past, they then offered me the elite for cheaper when I signed up for premium.

My order is out for delivery, but no images online yet. Sometimes they get behind on these.

I have a feeling we will have a big CGC announcement with graders notes soon. They have a "graders notes" section for each cards cert lookup. Don't know if it was added recently or has been there for awhile. This would be an awesome thing if they implemented it for every card and had it under the cert lookup number. Beating PSA to their goal!

Looks like this may be for the CGC x JSA service (for now at least):
Plus, cards encapsulated with the CGC x JSA Authentic Autograph label will receive CGC Cards Grader Notes identifying pertinent details about the signers, available at CGC Cards Verify Certification.

Not sure if these over-sized slabs are intended to cover tall boys or other non-standard sized sports cards that customers have been asking for, but CGC now has some kind of larger slab.

They could shove cards into those slabs with their crimped sleeves, but they look awful. I will use PSA and SGC for all oddball sized cards.

That article refers to the jumbo holder as “soft-plastic.” I’ve always thought one of the main benefits of having a card graded is the security of having it slabbed. If a card is in a soft-plastic holder, that doesn’t seem like a very secure option.

CGC's advertised turn around times have dropped significantly. A sign of lower volume?

The significant portion of their volume was the Omega Mystery Packs. It looks like this is drying up and I wouldn't be surprised that Bassik is moving his business over to TAG. It makes too much sense to me. Pokemon grading is going up with them and as soon as they unload the last CGC Omega Boxes, then the pumping of TAG and selling that product will be next.

This is great with collectors and hopefully we get amazing turnaround times and even cheaper grading!

They logged my bulk order as "received'' 7 calendar days after a user here. Tracking the same time line for that order compared to mine, they're already not hitting the turnaround in this update. It would still be an amazing turnaround if it happens, I'm just pointing out it's not evidenced currently.

I'm hoping. I was holding off on a bulk because it was a 60-day TAT, now its 16!

Looks like they have new holders for the slightly bigger cards. No more sleeves for vintage. CGC is really upping their game this week. Better vintage holders, oversize holders, and ttm grading. They are getting all the boxes checked. Nothing from SGC. Humph!!

Love it! Andy Broome is in charge and he loves to collect vintage. I was going to use SGC for some early Bowman, but CGC just got some more business. I have some cards I will reholder with vintage as well. $5 is very reasonable.

Mostly PC stuff. Here are some of my favorite cards. Super upsetting that they put the Hunter Greene in a sleeve.

Thanks for posting. Love the Harold Baines!

I have some early 70's and some early 80's basketball cards that I am contemplating sending to CGC. They are my favorite looking slabs.

I bought two Harold Baines Topps RC's from COMC for $1.70 and $1.82. They were both exactly the same. One got a PSA 9 and the other a CGC 9. Going to sell the PSA one, like the CGC holder better and the cards are identical.

With the $150 membership you get $150 credits, so it is basically free. With 10% of submissions is is $9.90 a card. Definitely the best deal in grading right now, especially with the turnaround times going down.

I also sent in 4 cards for auto grading that arrived 7/19
It only charged me approx $60 which seemed too cheap, did I mess something up? Or is the JSA fee added on later? Wasn't very clear
