Are group breaks still filling like they did though?

My Ebay sales have definitely slowed. Was averaging about 3-5 days a day even as recently as last month. I sell all sports.

Now I'm lucky to get a sale every other day. People aren't even making offers.

I don't even dare bother with no reserves. Straight BIN/BO with no chaser.

Feels batman.

Not to fear. What goes around comes right back around.

All these new age melanin Kevin Maas kards will one day be used to tell cautionary tales to our grandchildren with lessons far more valuable than the paper they're printed on.

Sold a Brady yesterday but that was my first sale in almost 2 weeks! Literally nothing is moving. The offers I do get are ridiculous low balls.

People were buying thinking cards will go up now everyone thinks the opposite so no one buying just waiting.

Reverse of FOMO.

I very much am still in this phase.

I bought into nearly everything pre COVID, killed it with soccer cards, sold nearly everything during the boom for “real life” stuff, and just holding onto some things I really like. I’m a fan of Zion and D Mitch so I’m trying to hold them for the long term.

Still selling off some scraps and grabbing some steals right now on auctions for some long term holds. Also, heading more back into the baseball market. I haven’t been this pumped about young talent in the MLB since...ever.

Feels more like we are in the panic phase in the basketball market. People acting so dumb right now, looking at you K13 and your merry band of idiots

The football market meanwhile, I can say I have sold multiple football cards for a profit in the past week that I purchased this past March. But ya know, the whole card market is imploding, it’s all over, blah blah blah

Many are probably hoping we're close to the bottom, but based on my observations I think the hobby is still in the Complacency phase. A LOT of people still complacent about things. Hearing a lot of, "Market doesn't go up forever", "Now is a great time to buy", "This always happens in a market" type of talk.

It's only June, my thinking is that as the summer goes on and people want money for other things, that money is going to be drawn from other areas. I don't think we are close to the bottom and honestly, I could see things going back to where they started. At least, a lot of the items that really aren't rare.

I'm still a buyer for certain cards but the bleed-out for higher premium'd non rare ultra modern will likely continue for some time and reverberate thru whole ecosystem. So your take may be on the money. But like I say, some nice rarer goat cards, those I still chase/buy but risk abounds when it comes to playing catch a falling knife game.

Agreed on some of the rhetoric, personally, I think we were in the complacency phase in March/April. Modern was getting crushed in Jan/Feb but you didn't see a rush to sell like we did in the middle of may there(seems like the initial panic selling has subsided to me). Maybe we are in the denial phase, which would be fitting. I just think we have seen a pretty bid decline, the complacency phase just doesn't seem right given the rhetoric around the hobby right now. People are not being complacent, there were straight fire sales all over the place 2 weeks ago

If the chart is meant to indicate actual price levels, it appears we are somewhere around denial, with the steep drop of capitulation scheduled elegantly for the offseason...

I think anxiety is about right. The number of people who just kept buying is remarkable.

As long as you didn’t keep buying what was being pumped and ultimately dumped, you are doing just fine.
