Shohei was a pitcher tonight. Not every night has to be a wipeout convention. The team needed length today and he delivered against a good sox offense.

They usually take him out when he's above 80 and doing double duty. I guess maddon was happy with Ohtani's command last inning. That's the first thing that goes when he tires.

This came in at just the right time today.

Also, below is a game used Ohtani pitched baseball that I acquired few weeks ago.
The deep scuff on top could be from Olson's sac fly, but I'm kinda hoping and inclined to believe that it's from Ohtani's splitter which probably hit the dirt (says "Blocked") while getting a swinging strike from Seth Brown.
I think they would have replaced the ball after Olson's sac fly if the ball looked this bad after that.
2 strikes in this one ball, closest I'll ever get to owning a strikeout ball of Ohtani as a pitcher.

I didn't want to start a new thread but I pulled a few Ohtani 2018 Bowman sky Blue Parallels back in the day. Unfortunately both are badly damaged. I've heard that if you send a card back into Topps with the pack wrapper you may get a new card? Neither card would get a PSA4

Isn’t it great? I can put my pride aside and say, I was a doubter on Ohtani, but just baseball in general right now, with all of the pure talent...I love it!

So glad I bought on him during the dip.... I love the fact that he has alot of variations too within Topps Flagship and there always seems to be a good deal out there if you are patient and look.

Is there any love here for 2018 Topps Transcendent Japan Shohei cards. I know they were kinda thrown around generally but I always loved the cards and never pulled the trigger on a single one. Now i just know i’m chasing outrageous prices��
