The 1927 Yankees team featured six future Hall of Famers and a bunch of other guys. Walter Beall was a relief pitcher for the 1927 Yankees appearing in only one game for only one inning. Teammate Babe Ruth noted that Beall possessed the "greatest curveball I ever saw." He just couldn't control the pitch's location.

Woody English is buried in a cemetery not far from where I locate. He played for Cubs and was in world series playing against Babe Ruth..1932 world series, I believe. He died from old age. He was really old.

I wonder if there are any other photos of Gadel from this game.
This is the only shot I have ever seen.
Surely, there had to have been other photographers there that day..

What a crazy background on this photo, someone told Ted Williams this young fan hitchhiked 250 miles to watch him play so he insisted on meeting the kid(look at his little stack of baseball cards he's holding).

Great photo and great suits!

And today is the day that I learned that original baseball HOFer Grover Cleveland Alexander looks a LOT like David Lynch.

My first thought was where's Ty Cobb? Then I came across this article that talked about how he arrived late and missed this iconic photo opp.

This is a colorized photo of Babe Ruth lying unconscious after he ran into a concrete wall at Griffith Stadium, while trying to catch a foul ball - July 5, 1924.

That's amazing colorization work. So many colorized pictures from that era look "off". This one has so much detail, it looks like it could've been taken yesterday.

All these pictures gave me goosebumps. Love the Dodger infield picture. Garvey, Cey, Lopes, and Russell didn't like each other very much.

Satchel Paige was one of the players in the first old-timers game played in the Astrodome in 1965. They were paid to appear and he suited up in an Astros jersey.
