I wouldn’t mind Jazz at second because I don’t think he is really that good of a third baseman.

You know something was done under the table to satisfy Boras.

I agree but that has never been the Yankees way except for the core 4.

If they spend a ton of money to retain Soto, they're going to have to for either first base or third base (if Chisholm moves back to 2B). Hal is too cheap to spend a ton of money to have great players at every position. He's not the Dodgers.

I've never seen that guy on any prospect list or in any article even saying he was anything but a minor league fill-in guy.

I guess it still beats working a 9 to 5 job.

True but I think if he was brought up properly he would already have 400 home runs.

Do we want Alonso. I am undecided, just asking.

Cashman should thank Soto for saving his job. But if they don’t sign Soto long term he has to go.

He's kind of Stanton 2.0. I'd much rather keep Soto. And lets be real, the Yankees make more than enough money to have probably a 600m payroll.

All one can do is throw out a pile of money and hope. It's like Ohtani but I think we have a better shot at this one (hopefully). If anything comes out that they were just not competitive in trying to obtain his services, then it may be time to recalibrate our expectations for this team.

I doubt Ohtani makes it through his contract, he's getting hurt a lot and undergoing a lot of surgeries. Soto just looks like the kind of guy that could hit until he's 40.

Oh I don't disagree. I just am worried that we've seen them cheap out before.

Oh 100%, they passed on Harper, Machado, Freeman, Seager, etc. Its not like Soto is the only good hitter out there, we've passed on so many all stars / potential mvps.

Yea Harper one was really tough. He wanted to be here and he didn't sign for crazy money (given his profile).

Harper is going to sting for a long time because of his move to 1B. That's become a glaring hole in our lineup, and I don't think Harper signing for what he did would have precluded us from making the Soto trade, and subsequently (hopefully) signing him.

No reason the Yankees shouldn't have a Soto-Judge-Harper 1-3

25 year olds typically look like they can play until 40.

Its more his game. He has a great batters eye, he's likely to end up a dh, he can't really run so less risk of injury etc.
