[QUOTE=BBases31;16517437]Down 1 run in the 6th inning and down 2 runs with 1 out in the 9th inning are two universes of difference

Only cause it fits your narrative. Showboating while losing is what you are calling Acuna out for while Tatis is doing the same. To me it is all fun, they did something amazing on the big stage and celebrating. Which I think adds to the entertainment value. Do you happen to think Acuna is breaking an unwritten rule of baseball by doing that in the 9th? kind of like swinging at a 3-0 fastball for a grand slam while your team is up big and padding your numbers. To me it all fun but you are just here cherry picking.

I don’t get to watch him live much during the season. Mostly just highlights, which were fun. Or the series when he played the Red Sox.

If you only see highlights then you can’t begin to see the joy Acuña plays the game with on a regular basis. He’s full of energy and passion. I’m not for the social media stuff but he’s I love his personality and passion on the field.

I can see why people might think he’s all about himself and not the team, even more so if you only see highlights, but if you follow the Braves regularly, watch the games and listen to his interviews then to me it’s clear he’s about winning and loves when his teammates do well even when he’s not.

Is everyone mad at Stanton for staring at his bomb just now against the Rays?

A psa 10 1983 blue acuna just sold for double a psa 10 bat up! Are the color 1983s catching on given how hard they are to gem?

What? How are those at all related? "Unwritten rules" of baseball are garbage. Of course he should swing for the fences even if they're up 20 runs. Acuna celebrating his HR while being minutes from losing a playoff game is being a jackass because his team is still like 5% to win the game but he's celebrating because of his personal achievement. What matters should be the team winning. It's like celebrating a touchdown when you're down 10 with 3 minutes left. It just shows he's thinking about himself more than the team

I'm good with guys celebrating HRs however they want. I'm good with Acuna throwing a few punches at Alcantara too.

And what if he is hoping his energy spills over to the next hitter and motivates them even more cause he gave them a chance rather just hanging his head and jogging the bases. Guess you hate tom brady too for doing just what you said above.

This is so dumb. Celebrating a HR in the 9th in a playoff game to bring your team within 2 cannot begin to be described as only caring about himself. It’s easier explained than pumping any HR in the regular season. Yes, if they were down 10 I’d agree with you but 2 runs is very doable and the playoffs bring another level of intensity to everything.

Lol yea, Acuna celebrating is going to magically improve Freddie Freeman's hitting skill in the span 10 seconds. Whatever you gotta tell yourself. We can end it on this note

Damn, it’s sad to see that some people take Acuna’s success personal. I can’t imagine how miserable they must be.

Because pitchers are robots and don’t have any mentals.

He’s actually right, seen plenty of players go on tilt, why do you think they replace them in games ?

It’s either stamina, pitch count or their head ain’t right.

I’m not going to say you are on tilt tonight, but this isn’t your best work.

That just looks weak.

is MLB gonna do anything to protect Acuna, because this is ridiculous.

it seems when he always plays Miami, he's getting beaned. Insane.

This.
So much hate and anger in this thread. Acuna is coming up big in the postseason. The Braves are up 1-0 on the Marlins in the divisional series. The bats are alive, and the pitching has been very solid overall.

Acuna is not "all about himself". He wants this team to win more than everyone who has posted in this thread combined. He was outside the dugout cheering much of today's game in case the haters didn't notice. He wants to win. Has he made a few mistakes the last couple of seasons? Yes. He's also a kid. If you didn't do some boneheaded things when you were 20 years old, then you're probably a boring person who hasn't lived, and I don't care what your opinion is on much of anything honestly.

His wrist isn't 100% btw. Anyone that's watched him the last few years knows that. He's playing through it. This team has hit him 5 times now. That's not a coincidence. He's playing through some pain, and these d-bags hit him. AGAIN. You think getting hit with a 97mph fastball feels good? I think he handled himself after getting hit, and even online after the game very well considering. He doesn't owe anyone an apology for anything. He blasted that ball today. Set the tone. It was beautiful.
