Then the Q4 adjustments should be announced soon unless they don't do that like last year.

Ship probably 10ish ESEs out a day. Some are cards some are other items patches, stickers, etc. They all origin through Coppell which is the Dallas processing center for basically 10 million people. Card saver and a larger card saver for up to 5 and so far yet to have an issue.

For ESE with the PIP claims I would rather just put in my listings how they are sent and say if it arrives damaged they are insured. People get less mad about that than having to stand in line and drive to their local post office surcharge on a low $$$ card. Just my opinion do whatever works for you.

Before ESE when I sold cards I shipped in a top loader but with a Butterfly. Non-machinable while it works puts you back on the honor system rather than the "proximity tracking" through the informed delivery scans that ESE offers.

The Thermal Printer cult will pitch fork me for saying this. But putting a stick and peel label rather than printing on the actual envelope just draws un-needed attention to standard mail. Does 95% of it go through fine probably. Do I want the headache of the other 5%? Honest question to ask. Been selling on eBay since I was a teenager nearly 20 years now. Once I send something off I don't want it back.

Everything else I have read you have done it right. Ship in a card saver, in a PWE, affix to one side like the CC companies do. Only one other thing that makes your mail stand out.

All my mail ends up in Dallas. Most goes to Dallas Main then goes to wherever. If tracking shows it goes to Coppell then there is going to be a delay 90% of the time. Several others here report delays are a common issue with Coppell

I have noticed since the storms in Dallas I get very few actual scans of anything in Dallas

The thickest that you can get through is 75pt most jersey cards are thicker stock. I would not advise it , but some fools do.

I've gotten a little less strict with this over time, since I've had so few issues with damaged/non-delivered cards. I think I agree that around 75 or 79 pt (in a top loader, for me, of course) is probably the thickest I'd go still. Flexibility is important as well as just thickness, though. If the card is totally stiff and won't flex at all, then I won't send it; it's too likely that it could get damaged or jam the machine, it needs to have at least a little bit of give to it.

One could make the case that, given the PIP insurance, there is much less risk to sending thicker cards that I originally thought there was. Not taking a stance, just throwing that out there.

I've got 3 cards sent via ESE label that are in the void. I have little confidence that they'll show up. It's very frustrating spending hours searching for gradeable cards, get them at a good price, only to have them disappear during shipping.

I do and will do it for any size thickness for low end stuff. If it gets lost or damaged, I just file a PIP claim. I've had pretty good success doing this and buyers appreciate it. Definitely helps move stuff faster having the ESE shipping. I just charge $1.12 and pay $1.12 for it. I haven't had many returned or damaged. YMMV

I'm signed up for the International Shipping Program, so I send it ESE to a hub and they ship it from there.

For INTL PWE type envelopes you can either go with an INTL Forever stamp that is currently $1.65 with no tracking and send directly to the buyer, or you can use the eBay INTL Shipping Program, charge what you normally do for ESE....the card is shipped to one of the eBay hubs and they take it from there. Buyer pays whatever you charge (if you charge) for ESE plus they pay around $15 more to get it from the hub to their end INTL location.

For bubble type shipping you might as well use the eBay INTL shipping program because the cost to get INTL tracking directly thru the USPS is close to what eBay charges, plus you have to fill out the paperwork. If you use the eBay program they handle the paperwork, you just have to get it the hub.

This is the only way to do international shipping.

Thank you so much guys, I really appreciate your help with this.

Also, if I’m reading this correctly if I skip internationally and let’s say I charge $1.00 for shipping international, do I just charge $1.00 in my listing and then just ship it to the hub and then eBay will charge the buyer $12-15 or whatever the cost is to ship internationally from the hub to the buyer?

Does anyone recommend or see and increase in sales by selling internationally or not? Thanks

Anyone else noticing a lot of messages/questions about tracking on items dropped off this past Monday. I have UPS and FedEx packages incoming that are all days late, looks like USPS might be experiencing the same thing.

It is rare, but not unheard of, for me to sell an ESE value card to an INTL buyer.....they don't want to pay regular shipping plus the extra $15 it takes to pass thru the hub. I have sold more that have asked to cancel because of the high cost than have actually paid. I have had a few that have contacted me and asked if I would sell thru eBay but remove the INTL shipping program, which I have done, and not had any problems. I charge them $2.50 and ship directly to them, but I understand the risk I accept by not having tracking.

It's the only way I am offering shipping internationally. Even when I offered direct international shipping it made up less than 1% of my sales.

Many international buyers have other ways to get their items. There are many third party companies that provide this service. Some also use US addresses of friends or relatives and such. So if an international buyer wants it there are ways

Thank you all for your responses. I appreciate them all.

For ESE if someone buys one card do you ship it in a top loader or card saver? And if a buyer buys multiple cards how do you ship multiple cards in a ESE (3-4 cards in a card saver?)

Do you guys ship in just a PWE (do you use the small or long envelopes) or do you ship in those cardboard mailers?

Thank you so much!

I refuse to ship more than 4 cards via ese. My cutoff is also around 10.00. Just personal preference.

But for 4 cards I will use 2 card savers in a #10 envelope

I ship 1-3 cards in a card saver and Kraft envelope. I'll ship up to six cards (back to card saver w/ bag) in my regular 4X6 envelope. If the order is bigger than that I use a 6X9 envelope with folded paper around the card savers.

I also use the larger 6X9 envelope for thick cards - card in top loader with folded paper around it.
