He's not going to be ready to help this year at this rate. There's too many mechanics that are off. Health wise he is fine.

Shoehei can pitch but he's just not there mentally. He has no confidence on the mound. He needs to pick himself up and get his confidence back. He does not look like he is having fun.

This is not Shohei from 2018

I was going to say that he's making it easier for the Angels to pick between hitting or pitching. Then I looked and saw him hitting .148.

I know it's so early, but this season couldn't be going any worse for him.

It could be much worse, he's healthy and hitting bombs. Even got through an inning today. Still just warming up. He'll get there

It wasn't 'close' it was a complete blown strike call. It was all over the strike zone.

At least he got his ERA down from infinite to 37.80... Not sure if he is ready to be starting games in the big leagues again. Perhaps make him a full-time DH and throw a simulated outing once per week. Then maybe get him some lower leverage bullpen innings in September. They paid a lot for him and need to better utilize him when considering current performance and future potential.
