I wear a 3x, so finding stuff I wanna keep is rare. But I did keep two Giants shirts I have found in my size. Sure, its a 2010 Brian Wilson related shirt, but dammit, its Giants, it Fits, and its Orange. I totally kept it!

Here is a question

What do you do with your mistakes? I bought a nice NIKE Univ of Texas shirt in a bag sale last week and found 2 stains on the back I missed. Thinking about just putting it in an auction starting at .99 cents and see what happens. Would rather get something out of it than trash it or redonate it.
I have made my share of mistakes. Once I picked up a bunch of beat skate related shirts, when I was paying for a bag price. Sold em all at $5 a pop, listing them as well worn, pointing out every flaw, hole, rip, design decay...

My most recent one was a Harley shirt. I didnt see a slice in the sleeve. Sold it for ten bucks. Made maybe 3 bucks on it, but hey, someone out there wanted it, and maybe he cut the sleeves off to boot. You never know what people will buy.

I will not, however, List an item that clearly has a spot, stain, flaw and not disclose it in my listing. Nothing worse than a buyer saying there is a stain and it wasnt spoken about in the listing.

Heres a question for you - Did you try washing it to get the stains out?

Thats a great idea, to list it with a quilt in mind, and to use that as the selling point of the listing. So list the shirt and in the title put perfect for a quilt?

Feel free to steal. I did a little research because I want to do a quilt with those crappy jersey t shirts. They suck on their own but if you got 20 of your favorite players with the back of the shirt that would look pretty cool.

The ones I see are sort of a hodgepodge of shirts, but with all the thrifting I (we) see a lot more items and with that could actually design a nice piece.

But again, making the quilt itself apparently is costly, especially the "quilting" part. Where they have to sew those lines to keep it all together.

I do have a question though...is it possible to be a polite ass. I'm curious what that would look like.

I can tell you because we live in the same area, going to same thrift shops even every couple days isn't going to yield good results. You are just wasting your time and gas. It might work every once in a while but the thrift shops around us don't have enough quality to restock for that.

Ha ha you found out my secret! No but really, I've been to that VOA probably 3 or 4 times, I have found 1 shirt that I got and maybe made $5 on it. I just don't go to it anymore because there isn't enough there. I go to that SA and Community Aid once a month because it is a bit of a drive for me. The SA you can find some decent stuff, although make sure you look at the stuff thoroughly when you get it because out of all the stores I have missed the most flaws on items after purchasing at that store. I saw that Elliot Jersey there last time I went and just left it because I figured it would be a hard sell. You may have luck with it. The Community Aid I have trouble finding stuff. I find maybe 1 or 2 items. As for traveling, I made a day of it to the Westminster area and around. I will just say don't waste your time there. The goodwill has stuff listed at insane prices. I'm talking 7.81 for a regular Ralph Lauren shirt.

I do it about once a month or so will drive to Dallas to hit thrift shops also when I am in Austin or Houston I make it a point to hit several shops. After the first of the year I pln on doing more of these type trips, gotta wait til my money situation gets a little more stabilized. Her not working is really taking a toll.

Ha ha compared to other areas they are pretty mediocre at best. I want to find one of these places where you get stuff by the pound or dollar shirt day, something! Best part is no tax on clothes!
