I look at that pic and SMH that the angels are barely getting by the orioles despite the multihomer game.

Yeap!!!! Chase the numbered pj’s a smart move.

And WOW!!! PSA 10 Bowman Chrome batting sold for $850
RD pushing $400

And BTW, SGC 10’s half that price on both.

I hit the red 1985 Ohtani from Baller in a Houdini break earlier this year. I'm glad to have that among a few others.

Unreal.
I have a refractor /499 of the Bowman Chrome batting, in PSA 9 condition.
I wonder what that's worth now.

SGC slabs are crap and the grade is balls but have to think this card was a steal as these Black and Whites were inserted 1 per half case

Looks like the card sold for $70 according to my source

I love that card image.
One of the very first actual images of him on card that is not photoshopped.
I have the auto version in PSA 9.

The card market might be down I. Basketball, but ohtani is pulling the baseball market up. Other money will soon pour in. All-star weekend could be huge!!!

8 more games before the break. Could he get to 35? He will have at least 1 more an tonight for a chance at the trifecta.

You guys can keep getting greedy with projecting record breaking numbers but I’m just thrilled to see him playing baseball up to his potential.

Please Lord don’t let the HR derby screw with his swing/timing and keep him healthy!!

Unpopular opinion, but I wish he would just not participate in AS weekend altogether. If there's any player in baseball that could use a few days off, it's Ohtani.

It is awesome that he is getting the publicity and spotlight. But, as much as I would love to watch him participate, I’d actually prefer he take a breather. First time I’ve ever stood on this side of the fence. It feels weird but it feels right. It is not at all guaranteed to happen, but I don’t want to see him potentially lose his groove because of the Derby.

You guys are nuts. He's a professional athlete not a thin piece of glass. Ohtani is taking a hundred swings a day every day in BP before games. The HR derby is not adding strain or injury risk

Jury is still out imo. Right now I think S2 takes the top prize for a number of reasons, but nobody knows how collectors will feel down the road. There are a number of additional variables with Ohtani’s cards compared to most players.

Lose his groove of hitting bomb after bomb in games because he's trying to hit bombs in the derby?

You seem to believe that simply hitting and pitching at the same time is in itself no extra risk for injury or fatigue.

Ohtani aside, baseball players as a whole are pretty much thin pieces of glass nowadays anyway. I wonder how many total days have been spent on the IL by players this year.
