Happy Shohei Ohtani day!

It’s my annual day of remembrance for making a really good decision four years ago.

No ragrets (except for the fact that I had to turn in my big baller card)!

I have lived vicariously through you the last four years...I love Sho, but it's best for me to stay in the shallow end with my floaties on, nice and tight.

Oh the high-end market is so much worse than you remember four years ago. So many flippers/liars and people trying to make a quick buck. You don't need that.

Certainly don’t need that and I truly enjoy my simple collection.

I had to come to a similar realization earlier this year. I still love Shohei but I'm exclusively buying low-end "raw" singles these days.

I did allow myself to keep two slabs each worth <$1k each at the time:

I still enjoy looking through my Ohtani binder (which is nearly full with a second one on deck to add more) and going to local shows to scour the value boxes for cards to add to it.

I've been on the lookout for a base refractor but I believe they have the same print run as the Golds and are super tough!

Yes, the base refractor is truer to the original and is just as difficult to hunt down.

I <3 my binder, too, and those are sweet keepers!

Let’s go Sho!

No sir.

I am incredibly wealthy (blessed) in the global economy.

I am a poor in the collectors economy.

Life-changing money, no. Too good to pass up when you come from where I come from, yes.
