I got a cherry blossom as well that's on the way - those do not come cheap. Topps did a great job getting a bulk of that product within Japan this year. Pretty hard to find anything good in the US. Safe travels!

That opening day dugout peeks is a super under rated card in any condition...being a 10 is flat out amazing. Do you know the print run on this card? I think I have only seen it come up for sale on Ebay and handful of times. I assume the print run is under 100.

The pack odds point to ~220 PR when comparing to insertion ratio of the #'d /50 auto relic (assuming retail odds are a consistent rate). There are less than 30 graded by PSA so that tracks considering half of them probably ended up in some kid's toy chest or mixed with pokemon (as they should, it's Opening Day).

Thanks for the info! By any account it is a super under rated card and very condition sensitive so congrats on the 10!

Thank you! I've been holding out for years and finally found a clean copy. I'm sure you have some sleeping 10s in your collection too!

Hah, I can't afford five, six figure cards every week so just finding ways to collect without taking a refi on my house. Collecting is fun because we all have limits. I suspect collecting is less fun for those that have no financial limits (I'd never know

Trueblue...I imagine your financial limits are much higher than the majority of people that collect cards and post here.

I always assumed you were financially independent/multimillionaire based on your collection.

Interestingly, I am pretty active on topps bunt (started the past year or so) and to me it is just as much fun collecting Ohtani on there and spending very little money.

I'm certainly not poor, but my purchases do not reflect my personal finances. I'm very good at compartmentalizing and I re-apply all sales from Sho cards back into Sho cards that I feel are undervalued. I also not only held through 2020 but continued to buy. That gave me a very, very large war chest to consolidate. I sometimes use my personal finances to float a big purchase until I can make enough sales to cover, but I bifurcate those funds 99% of the time.

Checkout my collection circa 2019-21. There are no cards over $5K at that snapshot in time. I flipped the switch to consolidation mode in 2021. You don't need to be filthy rich to get the best cards - just need to have a structured plan and discipline.

Things certainly did change after 2021 and the price of those cards!

Dugout peeks are awesome. 2019 is one of my favorite photographs used on a card of his.

Happy Topps brought them back in flagship this year.
