Looking for Andre Dawson Serial numbered cards that are his jersey number - either #8 or #10. So looking for cards like 8/8 or 08/99 or 10/250.

I don't remember exactly, but I think the SP's are limited to a print run of somewhere in the 200-300 range. There are 5 PSA 10's in the pop report (3 below) and 10 PSA 9's in the pop report (6 below).

I’m enjoying the posts. Keep them coming!

A little bit of a dry spell the last few games but he's a beast.

Great stuff. Hopefully we’ll see this happen during a single season. Perhaps in ‘22?

What’s funny is that today will be Bichette’s 162nd career game. It makes for a nice way to gauge the performances of the top ‘20 rookies (in card terms—they’re actually ‘19 rookies).

There’s no guarantee that both will have complete seasons that mirror their first 162 games, but these first 162 sure seem to portend good things to come—and should put them in the conversation with the Big 4.

6.2 WAR as a DH. Wow. David Ortiz's highest season bWAR was 6.4.

I knew I had bought a couple of RC lots, but I didn’t know I had piled up this many in the past few weeks.

I’m not sad. I don’t play in the deep end like many of y’all do, but I do love Yordan. Can’t wait to see what the next 162 bring!

Here is today's update. Nor rhyme or reason to the order of these, but here are Walgreen's Yellows.

Love the yellows, tier ones, foilboard, etc. I think this is one of the few player threads without drama and only cards. Let's keep it going!

Default Yordan Alvarez

I didn’t know what to think of HGA, whether it was just another grading service destined to fail or quite possibly an innovative approach to grading. I’m pretty it’s destined to fail now. But I’m glad to have a Yordan Sapphire.

The photo variation was way too cheap to pass up.

Love both of those pick ups! I’m surprised by how much I like the Sapphire in the HGA case.

I was never too into the HGA flip, but I've never actually held one. How does the slab compare to others? What about it sold you on them not lasting?

I'd agree, I don't think they will last, but it's not based on any personal experience.

The slab is solid. It’s closer to BGS than PSA in sturdiness, without a sealed sleeve. As tblood said, the label works really well with this particular card—because it just happens to feature Astros colors. (I might not feel quite the same about an Jesus Luzardo gold refractor in an HGA case.)

What has me doubting the service is that there appears to be a really obvious flaw that would normally drop a card to an 8 or below. But I can’t tell if it’s on the card or on the interior of the plastic case. Either way, they either botched the grade or were sloppy with the case, and this 9.5’s presentation leaves something to be desired.

Now, I’ve had some BGS cases with some internal case scuffing, so maybe that’s not necessarily enough to sink a company.

Here are my Meyers Purples. A bit lower print run than the Walgreens yellows.

Pretty sure HGA customizes the flip to match the card as close as possible.

From the auctions I’ve seen, HGA seems to be beating CSG for 4th place.
