As a pc buyer, those sales have become successively worse for me over the past, maybe 4-5 years. I expected little going in but got even less.
Off of the 700+ potential pc cards left on my watch list, today I bought one single card (1!) and it´s one that was added to the site yesterday.
It´s not like I´m looking for steals either, just anything remotely realistic would do. Only one other card on my list sold to someone else.

Everything else I see is mostly "sales" that do nothing but bring the sellers´ base prices "down" from 10x to 7-8x market value.
Many of those guys been doing the same thing 24/7/365 for the past 10 years (without success) anyway, so... thanks but no thanks

At this rate I might buy two more cards that I see are "down to" 2-3x market value and that´ll be it. $25 total spent. In the past I´d spend 10x that in the first couple hours alone

I'm new to COMC Black Friday... Does the $5 credit for spending $100 have to be in a single transaction? or does it track your spending throughout the week?

It's all week + Cyber Monday. So if you buy $200 total during those days you get a $10 credit in January.

My whole port is 30% off right now. Probably will get higher later in the week. I don't have great inventory, but stuff is flying (and I kinda just want to get rid of a lot of the stuff)

I also did 30% after repricing everything to lowest price before the sale started. Sales have been great - but maybe I was a bit too aggressive! 75 cards for about $325 so far - hope it keeps rolling because I have cards waiting to be uploaded, and 62 cards in my cart waiting for a bit more funds before purchasing.

Can someone who has submitted comic books to COMC offer me some tips on how to pack out my comic submission? Do they want every comic bagged and boarded or just bagged? I’m talking $25-50 comics that I’m looking to submit. Also do you tape the comic bags?

Comic books sell extremely poorly on COMC. They don't cross post them to eBay. The catalog is nearly impossible to search, as all books are listed by the first year the first issue came out. The descriptions are usually worthless names of the first story in the book. They don't distinguish Golden Age, Silver Age or list the characters or artists in the book.

One extremely big problem is that they have a broad definition of "Family Friendly" which cuts out a huge percentage of comics which are actually collectible. You could have a $1,000 Walking Dead comic book, for example and they will refuse to list it. If there's a pretty girl on the cover, they might randomly yank it if she's too pretty. If it's a war book with a Confederate Flag or WWII era German Military uniform, they'll nix it as well.

To answer your specific question, my experience has been that they will take the comics out of the bag and scan them, so you should pack securely but it isn't strictly necessary to tape the bags shut. However I haven't sent in any comics since about 2013, so I might not be up to speed with their latest methods.

I just got done dirty by COMCs system. Had a pending ebay sale on a card for $100 sunday and noticed this morning somebody on the site bought it for $20

Basically the ebayer didn't pay and they automatically list it for sale at my "base discount"

I mean I guess it could have been PST, I am not sure, but that is my number.

Thought this was funny. It is something I can definitely see COMC doing though.

Your points are well taken. I agree COMC is not up there in the places to sell or buy comics…not with the competition…much better marketplaces out there for that niche.

Depends on what you're after. I picked up a bunch of lower priced Topps Silver Pack and Stadium Club Chrome cards since I do well grading that type of stuff. Only about 40% of the items on my six page watch list actually have a sale price right now and some of those only have 4% off which isn't really a discount in my mind. No rush buying most anything not discounted. Not a disappointment but expected better on the buying side. Exceeding expectations on the selling side. I'll just take the cash if better buying ops don't come this weekend.

So far it is a disappointing sale if you can call it a sale. Put money in my account and woke up during the night to jump on all the great sales. Purchased one card.
Now I have gone through my watch list twice and purchase 4 more cards but paid a little more then I wanted to. I know the sellers and they do not come down any the prices is their lowest.

I have 3 prices on the cards.
1. The price I want to pay. That is set by comps and other prices of better players in the same set.
2. My Max. price this depends on the card as some may be a bigger %.
3. Then the price I will pay at the end of the sale for a few cards, so I have no more money in my account except for shipping.

Just in mind what I'm looking for and do not jump on me about how great it is for you.

It is hard for me to believe what some people are willing to spend on some of the cards that I have on my watch list. Close to 100 cards are gone from my watch list, and most are the higher dollar ones.

By the sounds of it, I have been pretty lucky so far - sales have been fairly robust and I have found quite a number of good deals for my PC stuff.

I am glad there are not many great deals out there, trying to keep on a budget. Got a few auto's for my PC and a few cheap singles for HOF player runs. Probably won't go over $300 this year, spent a lot more last year...

As expected, the pace slowed on Tuesday. Sold 513 cards for $520 so far and spent $187 of it. I grabbed all the low hanging fruit on my watch list. Only a few cards where I was on the fence were picked off by others. I still have plenty on the list but will wait for more revenue from my sales or better prices on the buying end, which ever comes first. Hoping some will be more aggressive on Friday or Monday.

Do sales make items more visible? Normally I just keep lowering my prices until items sell, but will try doing sales next time if that reaches a wider audience/makes them easier to find.

I think so. You can save some time and just test it by doing 5-10 % off everything. Maybe after every 10 days keep increasing the sale percentage.
