Default PSA vs BGS for 1986 Fleer Cards

I have several Michael Jordan rookie cards and want to get them graded, but I'm not sure if I should use PSA or BGS for them. I also have a complete set and I've seen a couple of sets on e-Bay that are all graded. Would having them graded be worth the money? Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

I prefer PSA for 1986 fleer. Grading always increases value, even if it's a low grade.

Personally I only buy ungraded cards unless I can physically inspect them....ungraded cards always look better on the computer than in real life....as far as companies go you will get opinions either way but for me it is PSA all the way.....

It can be quite costly to grade an entire set and probably only worth it if the cards will grade 8 or better....the Jordan's are a definite grade....

The value upgrade is completely related to grade. commons aren't worth it unless they get a 9. Most graded set collectors are looking for 9's or above to fill out the set. The big name rookies have value down to 7 or 8 range. If you are looking to sell, then PSA is the way to go. PSA 86 fleer has jumped in price during the past year.

Common cards can be worth it to grade at an 8 as well.....depending on the availability and what people need to complete a set they can be well worth it....

Yeah, you are probably right. With the spike in PSA 9 prices, it brings a lot of collectors into the PSA 8 buy range.

If you can just get a few cards out of the set graded a psa10 it will make it worthwhile

86 fleer cards graded by PSA are generally worth more.

It looks like PSA is the way to go. Thanks for all of your input!

I suggest paying 4SC a reasonable fee to submit your collection to PSA on your behalf and you'll have more gem 10's than you know what to do with.

In a few years the trend will change. Just a few years ago BGS was the vogue choice.

I don't get the PSA love. Their case is too cheap looking, why would you have a four figure card in a cheap looking case? BGS gold label all the way...
