Default The Walking Dead #144

End of the arc, end of the compendium and SDCC kicking off - might be a perfect storm!

Any predictions? All the talk is centered around Ezekiel being killed but I don't think that would be big enough - looks like something major is coming. Can't wait for Wednesday

Just came across this - as of this posting there are no spoilers within this link!

I think I have 10 copies of #132 and will see if I can find anymore locally - just wish Alpha's first appearance wasn't the same as the Loot Crate issue.

Cant wait for tomorrow!!

Walking Dead #144, You have been warned

I don't read the book. Did get the chance to flip through. Love the way they find out who died.

I love TWD show, have read the compendium and have started on The Governor novels, looks like it might be time to get into the comic books. I know it is real late but if anyone has any tips please PM me.

Thanks

Death books are never as good as firsts. I don't see this being all that big honestly. Plus the flippers who are currently in the hobby(this cycle at least) are really willing to take slim margins so I bet it ends up settling around a $6-8 book.

Unless Rick, Michonne, Carl die, not a big issue..And when they kill off rick, they will release 200,000 copies of it

I agree 100%. Definitely a big event but nothing worth investing in.

if this big event makes tv and its a major kill off (my guess is michone goes before carl or rick) that issue will skyrocket....I normally buy 10 of every issue anyways for my collection...the advanced preorder prices make it right under 20 bucks for 10 issuesand I rarely found a sportscard I collected that cheap lol

There are some death issues that are not too old that sell well

Flash 324 and the death of Reverse Flash sells really well even in mid grade

Maybe it would be different with superhero comics if the readers believed they would stay dead?? With TWD we know they are dead

Who knows how it'll do long term, but I've found that Walking Dead books always sell. They go up, they go down, but they do sell. The show isn't showing any signs of stopping, and may gain even more fans with the new series this summer. These are key character deaths and the book will be sought after, just may not see HUGE gains immediately.

I think this is a very important book. I've read them all more than once and only the books covering the end of their prison/Governor days would scale to this degree in my opinion. You want a great hero ? Make a great bad guy...er..girl. Lol

I'm liking this book and others connecting to it. I see 132, 133, 135, and 138 all being a little to a lot significant to TWD story. I also still believe 127 with Magna may somehow connect to all of this but time will tell.

I've bought more than a few of these. I love SDCC week. Stuff always gets rolling after the yearly lull.

SDCC week has overtaken Shark Week for me.

This will drive demand for #132 as it's Alpha 1st app. There was a Loot Crate Variant, and I'd stay away from that one as there are probably more of those than the regular issue.

Issue #144 - WOW..

Agreed on #132 and staying away from the Loot Crate Variant because of over printing. I just wish the cover to #132 was better than it is.

I hope this does not spoil it for anyone but I wasn't shocked like issue 100.

I think, after this issue, another good 1st appearance to get will be Lydias, the girl Carl is enamored with.

CGC lists Walking Dead 135 as her 1st Full appearance, but she appeared before that in the skin suit.

Didn't have the same impact for me either, but we didn't experience the deaths this time. Just saw the aftermath. Shocking to see some of them, but Glenn's beating was just BRUTAL.

You might be on to something there.

I feel like after this the town will turn on Rick and turn to Negan to help them take down the whisperers

Read the issue, was neat how they did it but I don't think it'll be a very big "key" issue quite honestly, but could be wrong.
