JD McPherson- Signs and Signifiers or Let the Good Times Roll. Both are quality albums.

He is amazing live. Im normally into punk and OI music but the wife and i have driven 2.5 hours just to see him play.

This was a really fun listen. I really enjoyed the album overall. There was only one song I didn't like and I am sure if I listened to it a couple more times it would grow on me. Bonus was Flirtin' With Disaster was live and they have a lot of energy. Thank you for the suggestion.

I'm glad you enjoyed it. The energy is contagious. It made my yard work enjoyable.

Saw them live years and years ago in the Houston Astrodome. Quadrophenia, like most of the songs by The Who, was written and composed by band member Pete Townsend. That is why I will always have The Who positioned higher than Led Zeppelin and other groups who performed songs primarily written by others. The musical "Tommy" (The Pinball Wizard) was also written by Townsend.

The country sounding song is titled "I'm One" - (I believe that's the song you were referring to).

Glad you liked it!

Always wanting to spread the RUSH joy, I have two suggestions (bypassing the popular juggernaut that is "Moving Pictures")...either "Permanent Waves" (if you want a couple radio hits like "Spirit of Radio" and "Freewill," as well as two of my favorite shorter* RUSH songs, "Jacob's Ladder" and "Natural Science") or the much more proggy "Hemispheres" (which has the legendary side-long epic "Cygnus X-1 Book II: Hemispheres," complemented on 'side two' by a decent radio hit, "The Trees" and their best instrumental, "La Villa Strangiato"). Can't go wrong with either of those two.

If anyone has EVER experienced the struggle between heart and mind, then "Cygnus X-1, Book II: Hemispheres" will eventually become your theme song. It's an 18-minute music orgasm.

Thank you for the suggestion.

All these posts and nobody has mentioned Ziggy Stardust yet? I love this album, and I don't even like David Bowie.

Also, all of Bob Dylan's old stuff is excellent, depending on how folk-y you want to get. In particular, Highway 61 Revisited and Blood on the Tracks, but literally anything before about 1975 had some great stuff on it.

Better then IV? Everyone knows the big three on there but what about "Going to California" and "When the levee breaks"?
