If you buy a spot in a $5,000 case, you are guaranteed a portion of that case. Depending on the number of members, and your cost, you own X percentage of the case. The group breaker owns nothing. The Kris Bryant "raffle" is a raffle. In order to play, you have to spend $2,800 to get a "ticket". There is one winning ticket out of 300, 299 losers. By buying a box of Prospect Rush, you have a 1:300 chance of winning the grand prize. Like any prize won, a 1099 or W2-G is issued because the winner will take possession of a valuable asset.

It's really that simple.

The big and small letters are used for emphasis, since I don't feel like everyone is reading the same words, so hopefully, the LARGE ones are read...

If you buy a spot in a group break, you don't OWN ANYTHING - you own an opportunity to POSSIBLY get a percentage of the case, at random, using a randomizer to determine random teams in which you may, possibly randomly, get a "prize." The CASE BREAKER owns the case. How can you keep saying the breaker doesn't own their own product? Could a drug dealer say "Well, I don't own this coke, I am just holding onto it until a bunch of people me more for it."

Why is the Grand Prize the only focus of your discussion? What about the guys who won a case of Draft, with an SRP of over $599 on an INSTANT WIN ticket. Why you continue to say that THIS is a raffle and group breaking is not, leads me to believe you either A)don't understand the process B)Have never participated in a group break or C) can't seem to be open minded enough to realize that other folks on here are making valid counterpoints.

In general, I consider 99% of your posts to be spot-on, in this case, I clearly disagree with your thought process as you continue to repeat that "for some reason" this particular product is a raffle, when others are not. If this is a raffle, so is every GB ever done, whether it be cases from manufacturers, repackers, razzers - it's all the same.

Either all forms of GB-ing are a raffle, according to your logic or none. I will admit that I am absolutely, 100% open to trying to understand your point - however, you have not explained WHY (<----- that is used for emphasis) that THIS particular product and situation is a raffle and others are not.

The reason the discussion turned on the Bryant is because someone brought it up. The reason this is a raffle is because Prospect Rush said it is a raffle. (I don't know how much clearer anyone can be about that).

Will and I talked and he agreed it was a pretty bad box and sent me a orange refractor auto Aaron Nola BGS 9.5/10 to replace the aramis so that was really above and beyond he didn't have to do that. So I appreciated that greatly. All I was really pointing out into his thread was how disappointed/shocked I was to see that card at #10. I have no Ill will towards Will. My thought on the product is that it was over hyped on being a little deeper than it was I expected a -50% to -30% ROI would be the avg on these boxes but it is showing more like a -70% to -40% from what I've been seeing. There are still some monster cards to be pulled.. So I will still be joining group breaks.

Good news is I sold my sketch card at auction for $5

The group breaker owns the boxes or cases. He has sold them off in pieces before the break. Once sold, the cards are owned by the buyers, even before the break starts.

I concede, you are right and I was wrong.

My brain is far too small to understand the logic that a Group Breaker doesn't own (they just take possession of) the cases they are opening. Because of that, I don't feel I will ever be able to fully understand your point, which is fine.

Good luck to all who are still involved with this product, it will certainly provide for some good entertainment in Rosemont!
