We do not have a LCS in my town so when I go 45 min away through the town that does I always try and stop by. The only part that kills me is how high the prices are. I know the guy has got to make money but come on. A box of 10 Draft Picks and Prospects was 85+ tax. How much are your LCS charging?

It's always negotiable. The sticker at my LCS says $75 for BDPP for example, but he said he could do $60. I passed because I am not set collecting BDPP and it's not worth it to me to spend $60 to hope the one auto or other color will recoup my money. Topps base and Bowman base are worth it to me, since I do care about the regular base cards, even though I know I can just buy the set cheaper. I still like to rip those sets for that reason.

my guy had them priced at $70 and normally will cut me a break on 2 or more so he knocked them down to $60 for me. Some of his stuff is way higher than what bo can sell at but it all depends what they got them for too, some of the stuff is cheaper or right on, it's hit or miss, how much they ordered and how fast they can move it on release is a big reason for prices too. They don't want to lose money like anything else.

Well my LCS HAD 10/11 sterling at 320. I bought him out at 125 b/c it flopped so bad.
Prices are much higher due to overhead, electricity, lack of a customer base, misc expenses. Costs much more to run a physical location. |

I understand the need to be a little higher for brick and mortar shops. It only makes sense. What I don't like about my current shop is the fact that he will no go down on price when a product flops.

My LCS has a rule: $30 above actual cost on every single box.

I support local businesses for everything BUT baseball cards, I live in Columbia, SC and there is only 2 places to buy cards, and no way am I paying $225 for 2010 TTT among over overly inflated prices on products to the point where it makes me cringe to see what he's charging, also he allows people to go behind the counter and search packs, I order from Atlanta sports cards because I get anything i order the next day, I do order from BO and DAC on occasion as well, but i like getting my stuff the day after i order it

I depends on what I need. If it's supplies I go to the LCS because its right there and usually the same as online when you take into account gas and shipping. I buy a few packs too just for sh!ts and giggles and maybe make a big score on a low purchase (you know you have to). For boxes though I usually go online unless the LCS can get within 10 bucks of the online sellers, then im cool with it.
My LCS is cool and discounts me because I give him base Dodgers and Angels and once in a while a lowball auto so they keep giving me god deals. You gotta grease the wheels a little ya know.

Could you imagine how much more stuff we could buy if we didn't have taxes to pay?

travist: i wish man.
our online presence isnt something we have really worked on. we do 95% of our business at the store at this point with the other 5% coming from shows. we use the website just as an advertising agent right now plus as our POS program to track what we sell in the store. its actually pretty advanced compared to just about any b&m store's POS program ive seen so far. at some point i hope to expand and actually roll out our online sales program this year as the site and POS program was semi built around it to start with - we just have to finish integrating it. thanks for checking out the site though.

The only place I buy cards is over the internet. Reason being is you cant beat there prices. My LCS went out of business about a year ago and when they were having clearance sales up to 50% off there prices were still higher then online prices. Me I look for the best deal then go get it. I would pick up small stuff there though supplies and stuff...
