Ehh letting clear racism slide without any vacation is cool I guess. Not like he had serious bumping infractions.

Even with his struggles over the past few years he still has one of the strongest sales values for pitchers. His 2015 Topps silver #/20 went for about $230 a month ago. A lot of his 2007 rarer rookie cards still pull in $100+

That's because regardless of his struggles he's still a very popular player and a fan favorite playing for a team with a strong hobby market.

Four very good years won't get you into the Hall. He's 30 now, so I would say he has a very slim chance unless he just decides to light it up until 2020.

He's a ways away from being HOF material.
Another no-no would put him closer and 3000 K's might get him there. Unless he makes a big u-turn and gets his fastball speed back, I don't see it. That's coming from a lincecum collector. To the person asking what happened.... My thoughts is that He purposely gained muscle and weight in 2011's off-season and it negatively affected his mechanics. He's never been quite the same since.

I would almost think Bumgarner has a better chance because of his early career post season heroics and many years to build on that.

I think they summed it all up very eloquently...

Ok this is gonna be my last post in this thread. I didn't think that 100 wins and 1600 strikeouts or so along with 2 Cy young awards and 2 no hitters at 30 was an unbelievable stretch. I never said that lincecum was a hall of Famer I was asking if it was possible just for discussion. I never said I thought that it was likely that he was gonna make the hall of fame. I guess everyone would rather have 200 Kris bryant threads to talk about.

Bum is also far far away. Way premature talking about any pitcher in their mid-20s. Even Kersh, were he to implode the next 5-6 years, all bets would be off.

But I will say this..I am almost at the point where I think Kershaw is a lock. 4 ERA titles in a row and MVP. He just needs a few more years. |

I'm ready to call Kershaw a lock right now. Even if he's so-so or average the rest of his career. Unless he's caught taking a substance or in some other major scandal, I think he's already a lock. That is not something I would say that often for someone at Kershaw's age. He's been historically good on that mound. There's no other 27-year-old in the game I can think of whom I'd call a lock already. Kershaw is just special.

Right now Lincecum is going to need a career resurrection to be in the Hall of the Very Good. He is Flash in Pan Material right now and that is sad state of many pitchers today.

His 1st 2 year it was like heaven open up and granted the Giants the greatest pitcher in the 21st century.
Now he goes around dressing like Ryan Howard all hipster with his satchel bag Last edited by IronMonkey415; 04-17-2015 at 08:39 PM. |
