I downloaded it and kept getting rejected at the registration screen when I used Facebook login. I switched over to registering using an e-mail address, and it went right through.

I got my free packs and made a couple of trades. But I agree that without some sort of play element there isn't much to keep users coming back.

Seems real boring, I downloaded it, got my pack and discovered the game wasn't really a game. Just an app to buy sell and trade digital cards. I deleted it shortly after LOL.

It sounds like something my nephews might enjoy, but not for me. I might do the free ones just to see what it's like, but I'd never spend money on it. Are there 1/1 virtual cards? How do you sell/trade them? What do the top end cards sell for? It is hard to believe there would be a big market for these... But maybe it is the wave of the future.

As weird as it might seem to old school collectors, digital cards for the BUNT, KICK and HUDDLE apps sell for real money online (and not because of their in-game functionality).

I fully expect the same for this app, in due time.

This sort of thing only works for Magic The Gathering online because you can playtest for tourneys, and win prizes etc etc. Topps probably saw how successful MTGO was and tried to emulate it. Good luck with that.

I was annoyed it was only available for Apple platforms. I'm an android fan.

I don't know. Topps doesn't have anything to do with the aftermarket sales. You can purchase packs with virtual currency (purchased with real money in the app) and then fans are selling the rare ones online later for big dollars. Just look online for completed sales of ultra rare cards.

This has nothing yo do with MTG or any kind of TCG as much as it is simply an extension of the sports apps that have been running very successfully for the past few years.

Patience-- Bunt/Kick/Huddle were all introduced first for iOS and then for Android later.

Right.. I think it is fun as free, and would be fun to pull a rare card you could sell for big cash, but I have a hard time understanding the people who would pay big cash for virtual cards. Probably the same people (kids mostly) who spend cash to advance further/quicker in iOS games.

Yea. On eBay and/or thru PayPal from forums like this one.

And I don't spend a dime on the apps which makes it even sweeter. It's basically like free money.

For those that are trying to make money off this you would need to list the virtual card on ebay. When somebody buys it you basically promise to trade them the card in the app. Thats it. There really is no proof of receipt or purchase, so you will open yourself up to returns, refunds, and all the other fun stuff from ebay.

However the virtual cards are free as long as you don't pay for them, so you are not risking that much in the end. Just the time and headache of dealing with ebay's return policies for people that say they never got the item.

Yes but I don't think anyone's gonna go through that trouble with digital cards. Especially these, considering they're even more pointless than Bunt/Huddle/Kick.
