Interesting Redemption Replacements Received

After seeing how Topps has been treating the majority of us, I called Topps and told them I wanted a replacement on everything I had pending [a bunch of high end Jered Weaver, I am convinced he won't sign any of his old redemptions, he has cancelled alot of local signings here in So Cal]. I told I them I collect museum collection gold framed autos numbered to 15 and Mike Trout on card autos. I was told they will do what they can and may possibly send random cards of their choice. I was so fed up with them I said, "Yea, just send me something instead of making me wait forever for something that won't be made."

I received these 6 cards yesterday. Interestingly, 5 of the cards are case hits [the gold framed]. What I don't get is why is Topps holding these case hits which were not redemptions originally when the product was released. I have been looking for the Will Clark for what seems like forever and I end up getting it via redemption replacement? Seriously?!?!?!

I am happy I got these cards but at the same time annoyed that they are being withheld from original releases and being held and saved for redemption replacements.

I am only the Will Clark and the Anthony Rizzo since I don't have those. The other four cards will eventually be FS/FT as the other 3 gold framed autos are duplicate cards for me and the Miguel Cabrera really doesn't interest me [thanks for the Trout auto Topps lol]. Anyway, here are the pictures.

Lol come on man! Yes, reprint rookie autos, cards #d to 10, book autos.. i consider high end, at least for me lol. Glad I no longer have any outstanding redemptions and will no longer have to check their website and forever see "pending." I will no longer buy redemptions, I rather pay more for a live card than save money and buy a redemption but then have to go through the Topps nightmare

I'd take those over any jered weaver, any day of the week. But you're right, why isn't Rickey in that product???

I ask the same questiojns every time i get replacements... I usually do very good with replacements... Was just offered a Manny Machado Bowman Chrome Red Ref Auto RC /5 for a replacement... i dont get how they even have it?!?

Im keeping the Clark. It took me forever to find it and found it via a redemption replacement, as weird as that sounds.

Several hundred dollars. Kinda sad to put all the money into something and then not get it. Lesson learned, again, dont buy redemptions

Looks like i need to get a replacement for my "high end" Javier Baez redemptions.

I ONLY collect 2009 Bowman draft Mike Trout autos and cut autos of HOF players w/ the last name Ruth.

Oh yeah, its for my 9 year old quadriplegic son who is going blind.

It's not necessarily that they are being withheld from the original releases as much as that they were redemptions in the original product that were never pulled.

The percentage of each product release that actually gets opened varies quite a bit, so a lot of redemptions never get pulled before they expire. In this case, you're talking about 2013 Museum redemptions, which I'm guessing expire sometime in 2015. So if Topps is still sitting on half the print run, they probably felt safe in sending them to you, knowing that the redemptions for these cards were very unlikely to be pulled before they expire.

In that case, something is very fishy indeed, because it means that not everything is being packed out that should be in the product.

Topps holds backs a certain percentage of most releases. It's amazing the stuff they hold back. Amazing and frustrating indeed. I can't tell you how disappointed I was a couple years ago when a guy was able to get a 2011 Bowman Chrome Harper Red Ref Auto /5 as a replacement from Topps. One of the biggest cards in recent years and Topps didnt eve pack it out. Frustrating.

Wow thats unreal Topps really needs to put an end to this. If they aremt redemptions, they should all be in packs

I just got offered the Manny Machado 2013 Bowman Chrome Red Ref Auto RC /5 as a replacement last week... one of the best cards in 2013 bowman chrome.... and its sitting at topps.... so crazy... but awesome when wanna give you it!! lol
