And tomorrow's the big day.
Anyone want to suggest a time and place for meetup? [This could also include a meetup after the event.]

Dodgers are selling mystery signed balls and mystery GU caps for $40. Bought 2 caps. First one was Mariano Duncan (coach). Second was Kershaw!

Thanks. I was (still am) very excited. Went back and bought another. Got Trent Oeltjen this time. Even his cap is cool, since it's a unique item from my PC team

I was there today and did a grab bag ball...my 3 year old son picked the bag and he got a Matt Kemp ball!...granted, Matt's no longer on the team, but when he was here, I loved watching him play.

My son has no idea who Matt Kemp is right now, but this is his first autographed ball...card collection will be started very soon!

Overall, it was a fun experience...I wanted to buy a Kershaw t-shirt for him, but the two stores we went into didn't have anything his size...it was either adult sizes or women's designs/clothing...disappointed that there was nothing for the kids...

I bought a game used Yordano Ventura hat at Royals fanfest for 50. 40 for a random seems a little high.. But that Kershaw is the best you coulda got!

Mystery Ball could have been worse. I got James Loney, they guy behind me got Jason Schmidt. it was 40 for either the hat or the ball but it was all cash donation to Dodgers Foundation.

I got Orel Hershiser x2 (one on OMLB, other OLB), Chris Whitrow x2(OLB), Howie Kendrick (1x OLB and 1x Mini Dodgers Bat) and Chris Hatcher x2 (OLB). Wanted to stick around for Puig and Peralta but knew my baby wouldn't be able to handle all 6 hours so I flipped them earlier on ebay.

As far as whether $40 for a random player hat is high, these were 4th of July hats, with a Stars & Stripes logo and a white body of the hat. You have 2 choices for a hat with this design - buy it at their price or don't buy it.
Dodger memorabilia also sells better than memorabilia from most other teams, because of the size of the fan base.
And the Ventura was a killer deal that I expect anyone on the baseball board with 50 in their pocket would have jumped on.

Yeah, but it seems like they put a lot of low value in the balls especially. But I suppose that's the gamble. If you got a Puig you'd be set! And of course if it's actually benefitting charity there's no losers there

Value in the balls is a rather variable concept. Anyone in LA who wants a Steve Yeager, Ron Cey, Tommy Davis, or Maury Wills (and a number of other former Dodgers who they had signing balls) auto ball just needs to buy a ball and keep an eye out for his next free signing. If you're not in the L.A. area, those are much tougher signatures to get without buying or trading for them. They had other guys who aren't very high demand but are tough signatures (e.g., Jason Schmidt). And then there are guys who are very high demand but aren't all that tough of signatures (e.g., Lasorda, Valenzuela, and Hershiser).

If you already have the guy on a single-signed ball, you probably wouldn't be that interested in getting another at $40 (especially if you're not in the business of reselling). If you don't already have him, $40 is a much more appealing price.

This year the balls were overpriced, that didn't stop me from dropping way too much on them but I do believe for the amount of junk they should have been lower in cost. Last year when they did the jersey's for $40 I saw more value in it.

My overall haul for the day was pretty good. I'll have to add picture's later.

Mystery Balls:
Raul Mondesi
Rick Honeycutt
Chad Billingsley
Paco Rodriguez
Derrell Thomas

Other Auto's:
Hershiser Bobblehead
Hershiser Mini Helmet
Wallach Mini Helmet (Has Hersh and Karros on it)
Kendrick OMLB
Jansen OMLB
Jansen Bowman RC Blue Ref
Barnes Sterling Black
Cey Mini Helmet (Already had Garvey on it)
Russell Mini Helmet (Already had Garvey on it)
