I'm sorry if you disagree with my opinion about this card not being worth more than some of the greatest players in the games rarest cards, but it's not.

I wish I could hit a big money card like that just once so that I can list it with a million dollar price tag and a picture of Dr. Evil.

You'd think for such a high end card, the seller would post better pictures. Brutal.

If someone actually believes that's a 2k card...good to know one of the best cards of the hottest athletes right now would only fetch 3x to 4x case price.

No one cares that you think it's a terrible time to buy it. I didn't realize you were the resident Dave Ramsey.
The guy is absolutely right on. ODB is selling the highest he ever will right now so buying is stupid. His odds of getting hurt or having a mediocre to bad sophomore season are a bout 1000X greater than him having a season that would make that card go any higher.

I am not even convinced ODB is the best WR from this years draft, he just had the best highlight. Mike Evans was pretty damn good too with a terrible QB.

I agree, the guy that pulled that card couldn't have done it at any better time and definitely capitalized on the situation. Just like how Beckham's Flawless true rookie card sold for $74 when it was first released because he hadn't broken out yet and the most recent sale was $227.50.

I would like to get a Beckham rookie card for my collection, but I will wait until the hype drops. I don't see how the current prices sustain over the long haul.

I agree with your points trixstar

$74

Odell Beckham Jr 2014 Panini Flawless on Card Rookie SP Autograph 25 Giants | eBay

$227.50

Odell Beckham Jr Rookie 2014 Panini Flawless Autographs 6 24 25 | eBay

I understand what you mean, but you can say this about most new cards. They all dip in price. I am probably one to wait like you until the price cools, but after a 1/1 sells, it could never surface again. From experience: this strategy has killed me in the past, and has rewarded me as I have got great bargins but passed on rare items.

and I think that's the biggest difference between collectors/hobby enthusiasts like me and obviously the person who paid what they paid for it. I honestly don't care on missing out on supers or any other 1/1 for that matter. It's not a knock on those who do but to me it's just not the end of the world.

  • First NFL rookie with two 12 catch games in a season.
  • First NFL rookie with 3 & 4 consecutive games over 130 receiving yards and a TD.
  • Only other receiver with 9 consecutive games over 90 yards receiving besides Irvin, rookie or otherwise.
  • Highest number of 100 yard receiving games (7) since 1960 for a rookie.
  • First WR ever to hit 1000 yards receiving after missing at least first 3 games (he missed 4).
  • Second highest receptions by a rookie in NFL history with 91.
  • Highest ever yards per game average by a rookie with 108.8.
  • Plus a ton of franchise records.
  • He caught 91 on 130 targets! 70%!!!

But yeah, it was definitely just the highlight.

If the seller goes over 20K for the year then yes. You should be paying taxes on any income as Paypal can report any of it. The Ebay fees were capped at 250.00 or 300 cannot remember now.

From NC in one of the Luck Champ Ticket threads:

Quote:
eBay's max fee for any card sold is $250 on a normal day. They have a promo for December where that max is only $200 ... and because I'm a Top Rated seller, I receive a 20% discount on all eBay fees.

And when he gets a concusion or victor cruzed all his prices will plummet. Only qb's have any staying power and that is a big reason why fb has seen huge drop off in sales the last two years, nobody is investing in guys who if they are lucky play 5 years

Hahaha, seriously? That's pretty much most of the league at this point besides QB's and a few positions nobody would ever invest in. WR's and RB's are two of the top investing categories and most players (good or bad) are done after 5 years at this rate.
