Sweet card if they had any Griffey patches. It'll probably get to you with a big plain white one (in June of 2017).

I'd have sold it before redeeming it...still, maybe $700 to 1k

That's the range they offered on it. I have to accept the price before they tell me what cards they consider to be in that range though. Just not sure if it is something worth holding out on or getting something in hand now rather than being stuck with the scenario you described.

you have to remember topps will give you a card that's not the same value. they are known for that.

If it's an actual patch I think it would be worth it. Topps seems to be sharing Jerseys with panini and giving them the patches lol

Couple pickups, first one is def not a PSA GEM (Pun intended)

On card auto, jumbo patch, Mariner's jersey, 1/1....have to imagine I should be asking for a good amount on it to give it up rather than waiting it out.

Thanks in advance for any help. Figured this would be the best place to ask
I would definitely wait to receive that card if it was me. You know that Topps has to eventually get some Griffey jerseys for patches soon since they are coming out with their Dynasty set in November which will feature Griffey with Mariners patches in his cards. I've been in the same boat as you with my Griffey 2013 Tier One Triple Patch Auto 1/1 redemption that I have waited a year to receive from Topps. I'm confident that they will get the jerseys so both of us can finally get our cards! I feel better after Thundering24 asked a Topps Rep about the situation and they told him that they should have a jersey by the time they release Dynasty. I know that they probably aren't for sure on this but this makes me feel somewhat better about the situation! There would just be too many Griffey patch cards that wouldn't be made if they can't get the jerseys for the cards and I just can't see that happening! Good luck!

Got these two recently, the 600 club was from a trade and the graded one I bought and sent in for grading (the auto grade is a 10).

I'm glad I happened across this thread!

My name is Chris Diesel, aka griff24fan on eBay, and cdgriff from the old Beckett Messageboards. I see a few names in here that I recognize from eBay and those old Beckett boards.

I've been collecting Griffey for almost 22 years, now, starting at age 10. I pulled his card from a pack of '92 Pinnacle, at Christmas that year, and haven't stopped since. At one point, I had over 2600 different cards of him. Over the past 5 years, or so, I've been selling off a large portion of my collection. I started with a lot of 850 base and low-dollar insert cards, and have been selling piece by piece, since then. I still do an eBay search, every day, and am still building my Griffey autograph collection.

Here's a collage of what the auto collection looks like, these days:

Here's the "Griffey shelf" and shot glass collection shelves, in my living room:

My home office is decked out, too:

Good to "see" a lot of you guys again!

Diesel

Hey Chris, I think most of us have certainly bought from you on eBay or sold to you on eBay and often both haha.

Love the collage picture! I don't see any Autographs in that picture I don't already have but I've got some dupes posted a few pages earlier if you have any auto dupes you're looking to move for others Yu don't have. Hit me up.

I appreciate the acclaim! I know there are a lot of his fans out there, and some INCREDIBLE collections, as well. "ylaf," on eBay, has one of the most ridiculous collections I can think of. I wish he was create a site, detailing it. Several of my good collecting friends, Roy Bircher, Kevin Arnold, and Dustan Hedlin also have very nice collections. Magicpapa's pictures, on here, make me drool, every time I see them!

One thing that stands out to me, above others, about my collection and fandom of Griffey, is the fact that he played the game the right way. He has never been accused of any wrong-doing to the game, and he played with a smile on his face for 20+ years. I'm glad I picked the "right" guy!

Thanks,
Chris

I consider myself one of those "weird people" who actually enjoy treating people right... be it on eBay or just holding a random door for someone. It's really too bad that it's often hard to find, these days. It's great to hear that I'm remembered, on there, as being a good person!

I'll shoot you a message, as I do have a couple dupes. Most notably is a '96 SPX auto. I can vividly remember my dad and I going to the local shop, here in NH, ripping $5-6 packs of '96 SPX, trying to pull the Griffey. My besy friend (still), was as big a Frank Thomas fan as I was a Griffey fan, and he actually pulled a Griffey auto. To this day, he still has it, and has never accepted any trade offer, lol.

I was able to pick one up, on eBay, a couple years ago, and since then have had another 3-4. It took 15+ years to get ONE, and now I have dupes... go figure!

Thanks,
Chris
