Cards, Brewers, Mariners 3 teams that don't need extra pick.

9 teams with affiliates in the Midwest League. I hope some big names get picked with these and I have a chance to watch them play.

Gotta remember this is to help the smaller market teams. Just goes to show how well a team is run if they have a small market, remain successful and can still acquire bonus picks in this lottery.

Do the Cards, Brewers and Mariners NEED the pick? Maybe not, but they sure deserved it!

Yea, those "small market" Cardinals definitely need the extra pick.

Should just be the 12 smallest teams, and 6 are round A, and 6 are round B. Rays get screwed a lot on these.

Giving Oakland and Cardinals extra picks is like giving Einstein a calculator

not necessary

this past year I think Marlins traded their pick away for B Morris to Pittsburgh (those picks CAN be traded)

That's because they spend money, Teams who spend a ton shouldn't get extra picks.

I wouldn't mind if they keep feeding the Indians these competitive balance picks. Farm system is slowly turning out to be pretty solid.

If you make the playoffs the prior year you shouldn't qualify

This I can agree with, even as a Cardinals fan.

Same here. I hope I get to see Touki in South Bend and (my future pc) Codi Medeiros with the Timber Rattlers. Maybe, Nick Gordon in Cedar Rapids and Bradley Zimmer with Lake County.

On August 10th I will get to see Trea Turner play in Fort Wayne!

Pretty crazy that the Cardinals are in this but the Rays aren't.

These picks are part of the regular June draft, after the 1st and 2nd rounds.

"Twelve competitive balance picks are awarded, with the first six taking place after the first round’s conclusion and the next six taking place following conclusion of the second round."

"These picks are eligible to be traded any time during the regular season, right up until 5pm ET on the day of next year’s draft."

Cardinals absolutely should not have gotten a pick.

As long as the Cubs don't get a pick, I approve.
