Default What's the point of sleeved jerseys?

I was ok with the sleeved jerseys for quite a while as no Blazer jerseys had them. But yesterday they made the Rip City jerseys sleeved and it just looks horrendous.

What is the point of these jerseys?

The NBA has said at some point they want advertisements on their jerseys like Europe Bball and Soccer. The sleeve jerseys give them more to work with in a sense of ad space...at least thats why I think theyre doing it for more $$$$$$

If I was to buy any Lillard Jersey, it would just be a REGULAR Rip City Jersey or a home Jersey.

These sleeved jerseys are a baaaad idea.

sleeve jerseys are uncomfortable for most players, id be pissed. they should just make minimal advertising and charge more as it would be prime real estate, not a clutter filled ugly ass uniform!

The biggest reason is most likely for the fan to wear easily. With no sleeves the NBA jersey always requires the matching t underneath, etc. It is much more fan friendly to sell a sleeved jersey you can just slip on and not worry about anything else. This puts them on even ground with NFL and MLB jerseys. That being said I HATE them but it is like everything else in sports, the chase of the mighty dollar!

Colin Cowherd did a show about the sleeved Jerseys after Lebron complained about them and it was believed the real reasoning behind the sleeved jerseys was to cover up visible tattoos to give the NBA a cleaner image. But the NBA wanted you to believe it was a marketing angle.

I will NOT be buying a sleeved jersey of the Lakers. EVER. How hard is it to find a matching shirt? Simply wear a black or white under shirt and you are done. Easy as pie.

It isn't the NBA with a bad image. I hear of more NFL players getting arrested for drugs, guns, domestic violence, etc than I do MLB and NBA players combined.

Well... Pie is not easy. If you're buying it, it is. But good pie is expensive, so you can't eat it all the time. So even buying it its hard. To MAKE IT? Very difficult. You gotta first start with the proper ingredients. Even when you have all the proper ingredients, you have to make sure you have the cooking process down to the T, and dot all your I's. even then it may not come out tasting the way it should....... So no, pie is actually not easy at all. Very difficult.

As for jerseys with sleeves? Besides looking more classy? It's already done for you! No need looking for a funky looking t-shirt... Simply all done in one! Not to mention that most people will play basketball outside in the heat, and not indoors, so I'll be HOT!!! "Most" people anyway...... So wearing a t-shirt on top of wearing a jersey??? extremely hot.

So why not do what makes sense? I say... Bring them on!!! Make our lives more simpler, and stylist too!

Again, pie IS NOT easy at all... Unless of course mom is rich, and/or a master chef....... Then yes, pie all of a sudden becomes so easy. However, jerseys with no sleeves are still very difficult for the masses, unless of course you're rich enough play every time in an indoor court, AND don't mind people's armpits, and armpit juice, in your face.

Lock up the thread... I have no energy left. (Being carried away by two people holding both my armpits).

They are more wearable than the regular jerseys for us normal people.

More like, what's the point with sleeveless jerseys? Or even more, what's the point with jerseys? Wearing shorts is the only think men need to cover their private parts.

Don't know why everyone is complaining that just means jerseys have more patches for everyone to croon over. Let's face it, the only thing important is dem 3 and 4 color patches.
