I see the Knicks are re-arranging the deck chairs again. Fat Sammy for Fat Felton. Lutz....

Plan with Calderon is to maybe deal him some point wouldn't it? Maybe a trade deadline thing to a team that has a PG injury and thinks they still can contend. Or is he too high priced for something like that?

Biggest thing to me is this means Knicks are acting like Melo isn't coming back and are ready to tank next year for a high pick. I don't see how this entices Melo to comeback to send off the anchor of the defense and doesn't seem to open any new doors for this year.

Good for the Knicks to get rid of Felton.

He's certainly more tradeable than felton, and he'd be a great fit for the triangle since he's a knock down 3 point shooter...

The trade was great for both teams.

However, it just made the Knicks a bit better offensively.

It made the Mavs a championship contender

(I DON'T LIKE THAT FELTON IS COMING ALONG ... LEAVE HIM BEHIND TYSON!)

Surprised Cuban took fat Felton in this AND gave up a pick.

Shumpert for the Thunders latest #1st makes SO much sense to me

Currently the Knicks only have 12 mil worth of contracts on the books that year, with Felton. So that's around 15 mil w Calderon. Basically only Calderon and JR smith. Which will be movable on contract years anyways. But either way they'll have plenty of cap space, and I have to believe Phil has a plan. Now at least they have a pg for now and possibly for the future. Dalembert isn't chandler but he's serviceable. I love Tyson but he's obviously on the decline and when he's banged up is a liability. I'm for this deal.
Calderon is not a pg of the future . He will be traded .

I was saying Larkin could possibly be pg of the future and calderon will be a major upgrade from Felton for the next 2 years. He's a much better shooter and in the triangle you need that from your pg.

Let operation get rid of the trash begin... Colonel Phil-lead the way!!!! Love this move for a variety of reasons. Now, get rid of J.R. Scum, let Stat and Bargs play out their awful contracts, tank the season ( like we will have a choice?) lol and hopefully get a top pick in the draft and let's rebuild the machine in the next few years..

Um, it's not some giant mystery. It's most effective with 3 point shooting pgs lol. There's actually books about the subject, maybe not in the elementary school library tho...

well there are about 8 mavs fans and 80,000 knicks fans on these boards. i'll share my thoughts from the perspective of a mav fan..

towards the end of the season, and in the playoffs, devin harris (on a vet min contract) played more crunch time minutes than jose. no surprise there... devin is a much stronger defender, faster and more aggressive, while jose's strengths are ELITE shooting and minimal turnovers. i can see devin harris and ray felton sharing PG duties with gal mekel as the 3rd stringer. i cant say i was a fan of signing monta AND calderon last offseason, since they both have been known as defensive liabilities (perhaps not as bad as james harden though. does that guy even care?! anyway...), but i was happier with monta's shorter and lesser money contract than calderon's, who's also older. so i can live with trading away calderon while re-signing devin harris.

as for tyson chandler... WHY DIDN'T WE KEEP HIM 3 YEARS AGO!?!?!?!?!?! i bet you mark cuban is regretting that decision to this very day (this proves it!) i love cuban as an honest and outspoken owner. the team finally breaks through in 2011, and the team decides to not retain the best complementary center dirk has ever played with!?!? i'm not saying dallas would have won 2012, but at least give yourself a chance. going after deron-at-60%-of-his-prime-williams and carefree-dwight wasn't going to solve the problems even if we DID get them. am i happy that dallas is going to get tyson chandler back in the mix? yes because he's perfect for dirk, but every mavs fan has to be wondering... why didn't we just keep hiim 3 years ago instead of reacquiring him now when he's 3 years older

Let me reiterate, Calderon is an upgrade over Felton for 2 years. Not the future. Larkin could POSSIBLY be the future.

on another note... since chandler is one melo's closest friends on the knicks team, does this increase the mavs chance of landing from 0.00001% to 0.00007%?

on another note, i'm def happier with chandler (even if he's injury prone) than the rumor of signing up 34 year old pau gasol. we need D and rebounding, not another older european

I love this for NYK. Chandler was gone after next year. They turned him and Felton into Calderon, Larkin, Dalembert and two 2nds. Dalemberts deal is non guaranteed. He's going to be cut. Larkin is still young. Maybe he can turn into something. Clearly Calderon is better than Felton and he will probably be traded again. That's a pretty good haul. If he stays healthy that's obviously a big pickup for Dallas. The rare win win trade.

Well being as supposedly the Knicks are on Lebron's list of 5 teams. Maybe this is the start of some master plan lol.

Get rid of Chandler and Felton

Trade Calderon and Bargs/Stat somewhere for nothing in return

Cut Dalembert

Then you sign Melo and then James

this is what happens in the dream world i live in sometimes lol

Well, considering you can't trade 30 million plus in contracts for nothing, I'd say it's definitely a product of your dream world

Im very happy with this

Works for both teams and happy felton could get out of NY and tyson also

Phils got a lot of moves ahead

Maybe trying to move into the first round tommorow

Or package like larkin 2 picks shump and amare for something

Or clear space

Interesting move

If melo leaves works well for the knicks for sure...

Mb melo told phil jax if u want a chance get me a better PG...

im thinking they do one of those shump for 1st round deals and use the 34th pick to sweeten the pot. or maybe they're eying someone with that pick, who knows...but i do like the trade.
